The Universal Tower Defense X meta has shifted with the Universal Festival Part 2 update, and raw damage is no longer the only thing that matters. Units now win spots based on a mix of damage, crowd control, armor and Haki breaking, team buffs, elemental coverage, and how well they scale in Infinite, Challenges, Virtual Realm, and Ragnarok. The rankings below assume late-game investment: fully evolved units where applicable, full Etherealization, top traits, and matched relics.

Quick answer: For a top endgame team, run Triple Threat (Unrivaled) or King Sailor (Unrivaled) in your Leader slot, pair a meta carry like The Strongest of Today or The Strongest in History, add a Synchro pairing such as Unparalleled Armor, and finish with Bulma (plus Fastcart if you are building Synchro).

Note: Story progression is far more forgiving. Almost any unit can clear early maps once you upgrade and Etherealize it with relics, so the tier order matters most for Infinite, Challenges, Virtual Realm, Ragnarok, and Events.

Why the top S-Tier carries stand out

King Sailor (Unrivaled) is a Water/Ground unit that acts more as a team amplifier than a solo carry. Manipulator of Fate and Unrivaled Mark hand out large tag- and element-based buffs, while Baal's Lightning adds chain pressure and sets up Rukh's Judgement on hit enemies. His full max cost of 91,800 is steep, so he pays off only in a composition that can use those buffs.

The Strongest of Today is a Light/Ground unit built around control. Limitless Sorcerer slows enemies entering range and makes them take 25% more damage, Domain Expansion forces a 30-second Timestop in range, and Infinite Purple deals 300% damage to all enemies on the map. He has a single placement and a max cost of 79,000, so positioning matters more than usual.

The Strongest in History is a Boundless Dark/Ground unit evolved from Cursed Vessel. The Shadows permanently marks enemies and stacks bonus damage, slows, and stuns as more marked enemies gather in range, while Shadow Emerge adds follow-up Bleed attacks and Ten Umbra runs two copy summons at once at full upgrade. It is the strongest non-Synchro DPS in the game once it ramps.


Synchro units and Synchro Clash pairings

Synchro Drive fuses two max-upgrade units into one, taking the stats, traits, and relics from a single side of the pair. These produce the highest DPS in the game, and the cost of two units is generally worth it.

To fuse, both units must be at max upgrade, owned by you or requested from another player. A Synchro Clash instead triggers when both units are maxed and standing within each other's range, firing a combined attack.


Leader, support, and farm setup

Team buffs only apply when the buffing unit sits in the Leader or first slot. Place Triple Threat (Unrivaled) or King Sailor (Unrivaled) there to get their team buffs; in any other slot, the buffs do nothing.

For economy, Bulma alone is enough to rush upgrades on most teams. If you are building toward a Synchro Drive, run both Bulma and Fastcart to speed up the upgrade path so you can reach max on both fusion components.


Best traits and relics per unit

Ruler is the default best trait for almost every top carry. A handful of units prefer alternatives for specific roles, such as Astral on Spade (Donut) for Burn DoT, or Eternal/Sacred on Sharpshooter King (Trapper). The table below covers the most relevant picks.

Joyful Captain has three passive paths. The top path is best for full AOE DPS, the middle path turns him into a DPS/hybrid support with damage amplification and knockbacks, and the bottom path is best avoided. Keep elemental interactions in mind, since attacks deal 2.5x more with an advantage and 5x less with a disadvantage.


How to verify your build is working

You will know a Leader buff is active when surrounding units show the buff increase on their stat tooltip after placement. Synchro Drive completes only when both source units are at max upgrade; if the fusion option is greyed out, one side is not maxed or you have not requested the second unit from another player. A Synchro Clash will visibly fire a combined attack once both units are maxed and within range of each other, so if it does not trigger, move the units closer or finish their upgrades.

The Strongest in History is obtained by clearing the Red Universal Tear when it is in rotation, which switches every three hours, then evolving the Mythic Cursed Vessel with 1 Boundless Orb, 5 Universal Fragments, 15 Phantom Fragments, 19 Cursed Fingers, and 12 Burning Fragments. If the Tear is not visible in the lobby, it is simply not in the current rotation window.

Rankings shift with every balance pass, so expect movement as the Universal Festival Part 2 units get tested over the coming days.
