Valor Mortis hands out its weapons, Transmutations and abilities at particular places, and the maps hold 11 spots where the game first gives you one of them. You get them from an altar of a fallen soldier, from a pickup, or at the start of the game. The weapons include the Saber, Rapier, Claymore, Pistol, Musket and Blunderbuss. The abilities are Grappling and Nephtoglobin Formations, and the Transmutations are Fire, Stasis and Shield.

The Battlefield, Fallen Village and Vale of Wrath have the most, with 2 spots apiece, so search those regions carefully when you pass through. Valley of Ashes, Abandoned Church, Caverns, Cursed Hollow and University have 1 spot each.
