Gear in VV Ultimatum is split across five slots, and each one is a chance to push your build toward more Kido Damage, harder Hakuda pressure, higher Weapon Damage, more Reiatsu, or simply staying alive longer. Rarity is a poor shortcut. What matters is how a piece matches your damage type, your range, your level, and the content you are farming.
Quick answer: For most builds, equip Chaos Halo or Gunslinger’s Hat (Kido) or The King’s Crown (melee) in the Head slot, Chaos Shades or Arctic Explorer’s Goggles in the Face slot, Battle-Damaged Haori or Savior’s Cape in the Body slot, a Demon’s Gauntlet or Pendant of Youth in the Misc slot, and the Utility Backpack for Equipment Load.
How to read the equipment slots
Equipment decides your stat buffs and the role your character plays in combat. On top of the base stats, every piece can roll an Equipment Modifier, which you change with Modifier Stones by rerolling at the Tailors. Many strong items also carry an Equipment Load weight, so the Utility slot exists mainly to let you fit heavier gear without breaking the rest of your setup.
The slots break down into Head, Face, Body, Miscellaneous, and Utility. Head and Body usually carry your build’s offensive backbone, Face fills a smaller bonus, Misc covers gauntlets and accessories, and Utility handles Equipment Load and content access.
Best Head equipment
Head gear is where you usually start shaping the offensive side of a build. The strongest pieces stack a damage stat with extra Reiatsu or HP, so they let you patch a weakness without changing how you play.
| Headpiece | Rarity / Tier | Key stats | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chaos Halo | Legendary / S | +3% Kido Damage, +7 Max Reiatsu, +2.5 Max HP | Level 60, Hueco Mundo (Lord Nivis) |
| The King’s Crown | Legendary / S | +2.1% Weapon Damage, +2.1% Hakuda Damage, +2% Melee Def, +7 Max HP | Level 35, The Marsh (The Crocodile King) |
| War-Torn Bandana | Legendary / S | +2.5% Hakuda Damage, +3.5 Max Reiatsu, +7 Max HP | Level 70, Arctic Plains |
| Gunslinger’s Hat | Rare / S | +3% Kido Damage, +5 Max Reiatsu | Level 80 |
| Desert Wanderer’s Turban | Rare / A | +8 Max HP, +2 Shunpo Speed, +3.5 Shunpo Stamina | Level 88 |
| Sabertooth’s Headwear | Rare / A | +2.25% Weapon Damage, +3.5 Max Reiatsu | Level 40, Arctic Plains |
Chaos Halo and Gunslinger’s Hat are the cleanest Kido heads. The King’s Crown is the premium hybrid for weapon and Hakuda bruisers because it adds both melee damage types plus Melee Defense. War-Torn Bandana is the dedicated Hakuda pick when you still want survivability.
Best Face equipment
The Face slot has fewer high-impact options, so even a modest bonus carries weight here. Some pieces are straight damage boosts, while others lean into Kido Defense, Monster Damage, or Shunpo Speed.
| Face piece | Rarity / Tier | Key stats | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arctic Explorer’s Goggles | Rare / S | +2.5% Kido Damage | Drop / world find |
| Chaos Shades | Rare / S | +0.5% Weapon Damage, +4% Posture Regen, +2.5% Kido Defense | Level 17, dropped by Shamballa |
| Parasite’s Mask | Rare / A | +2.5% Kido Defense, +3% Monster Damage | Level 60, dropped by The Parasite |
| Wraith Mask | Rare / A | +5 Max HP, +1.25% Weapon Damage | Drop / world find |
| Marsh Stalker Headwrap | Rare / A | +1% Hakuda Damage, +5 Shunpo Speed | Level 33 |
| White Flight Tape | Rare / B | +2.75 Max Reiatsu | Level 25, Soul Society Outskirts |
Arctic Explorer’s Goggles is the cleanest offensive option because a direct Kido boost is rare in this slot. Chaos Shades is the most complete pick for general play thanks to its mix of offense, posture sustain, and Kido Defense. Parasite’s Mask is the specialist choice for PvE and bossing because of its Monster Damage.
Best Body equipment
Body gear gives a build its backbone. These pieces tend to combine HP and posture with a damage or Reiatsu bonus, which decides whether your character feels fragile or tanky. It is often worth a slightly lower-damage Body piece if it keeps you alive through longer fights.
| Body piece | Rarity / Tier | Key stats | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battle-Damaged Haori | Legendary / S | +1.5% Weapon Damage, +4% Posture Regen, +13 Max HP | Level 85, dropped by Junichiro |
| Savior’s Cape | Legendary / S | +2.3% Weapon Damage, +3 Max Reiatsu, +10 Max HP | Hueco Mundo chests |
| Gravewood Warset | Rare / S | +2.5% Hakuda Damage, +4 Max HP, +4 Max Posture, +2% Melee Def | Level 80, craftable (3 Dark Spirit Alloys) |
| Gunslinger’s Tunic | Rare / S | +2% Kido Damage, +4 Max Reiatsu, +7 Max HP | World find |
| Conqueror’s Trophy | Legendary / A | +3 Max Posture, +12 Max HP | Drop / world find |
| Samurai’s Armor | Uncommon / A | +3 Max Posture, +2% Posture Regen, +1.5% Weapon Damage, +7 Max HP | Level 30, craftable (The Grey Hunter quest) |
Battle-Damaged Haori and Savior’s Cape are the best general weapon Body pieces because they pack damage, HP, and either Posture Regen or Reiatsu in one slot. Gravewood Warset is the Hakuda bruiser choice, while Gunslinger’s Tunic is the top Kido option. Samurai’s Armor is a standout Uncommon that performs well above filler gear.
Best Misc equipment
Misc is the most flexible category. It holds gauntlets, pendants, pauldrons, and accessories that can pull a build in very different directions, so the best piece depends on your role rather than one universal item.
| Misc piece | Rarity / Tier | Key stats | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demon’s Red Gauntlets | Legendary / S | +4% Hakuda Damage, +8 Max HP | Level 90, craft from a Devil’s gauntlet + 2 Flame-Refined Talons |
| Demon’s White Gauntlets | Legendary / S | +3.6% Hakuda Damage, +5 Max Reiatsu | Level 90, craft from a Devil’s gauntlet + 2 Flame-Refined Talons |
| Pendant of Youth | Legendary / S | +7.5 Max Posture, +10 Shunpo Stamina | Level 90, Raids and Calamitas |
| Drinking Gourd | Legendary / S | +8 Max Reiatsu, +2% Kido Defense | Level 70, Hueco Mundo |
| Monkey Head | Legendary / S | +1.5% Weapon Damage, +4 Max HP, +2.5 Max Reiatsu, +5% Posture Regen | Dropped by Argus The Sharp |
| Devil’s Red / Blue / Purple Gauntlets | Legendary / A | +2.5% Hakuda Damage + a secondary stat | Level 50, Arctic Plains and world finds |
The Demon’s gauntlets are the endgame Hakuda picks. Note that you craft them from the Devil’s Red, Blue, or Purple Gauntlets plus Flame-Refined Talons, and the Devil’s Royal Gauntlets cannot be used in that upgrade. Pendant of Youth and Drinking Gourd cover defensive and Kido needs, while Monkey Head is the best balanced hybrid in the slot.
Best Utility equipment
Utility is less about damage and more about making your full setup work. The best Utility item often lets you carry heavier gear or enter the content you want to farm.
| Utility piece | Rarity / Tier | Key stats | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wayfarer’s Satchel | Legendary / S | +20 Equipment Load | Starter Pack (400 Robux), Fort Adams |
| Utility Backpack | Common / A | +8 Equipment Load, +2 Max Posture | World find |
| Respirator | Common / Essential | +1 Equipment Load, +3 Max Reiatsu, +100% Toxic Fumes Resistance | Craftable quest item |
Wayfarer’s Satchel is the best pure Equipment Load option, but it is tied to the 400 Robux Starter Pack. The Utility Backpack is the strongest non-paid pick. The Respirator is not a stat item in practice, it is mandatory because its 100% Toxic Fumes Resistance is required to enter The Marsh.
Equipment Modifiers and how to reroll
Modifiers add an extra layer on top of base stats. You reroll them at the Tailors for 400 to 500 Soul Tokens, and the rarest rolls have the lowest chances.
| Modifier | Chance | Buffs |
|---|---|---|
| Celestial | 2% | Max Reiatsu, Max HP, Kido, Melee Def, Posture Regen |
| Menacing | 3% | Hakuda Damage |
| Vibrant | 4% | Max HP |
Celestial is the most valuable because it can roll several useful stats, but it is also the rarest at 2%. Menacing is the targeted pick for Hakuda builds, and Vibrant is a reliable survivability roll on almost any piece.
Match each slot to your damage type instead of chasing rarity, and use modifier rerolls to close the last gaps. A Kido caster wants Chaos Halo, Arctic Explorer’s Goggles, Gunslinger’s Tunic, and Drinking Gourd, while a Hakuda bruiser leans on War-Torn Bandana, Gravewood Warset, and a Demon’s gauntlet. Update 1 may shift some of these placements as new content is tested, so treat the highest-level pieces as the current ceiling.
