What Waltz and Jam is
Waltz and Jam combines an isometric viewpoint with platforming, environmental puzzles, and combat. You control Waltz, a white ghost wearing a hood, who comes to in Downtown—a strange afterlife—with his memories gone. To arrive at the Gate of Judgement, he must gather seven stamps, and companions join his journey.

Guiding him is the enigmatic Low, and traveling at his side is Jam, a loyal spirit puppy whose shifting abilities carry much of the gameplay. The two characters are built around each other, and most challenges ask you to use both of their strengths together.
How Waltz and Jam play together
Jam can transform into different shapes to open up paths. He stretches to form bridges, works as a mount, and morphs into forms like a bouncing Water Ball that crosses gaps or a springy Trampoline that reaches higher ledges. He can also pull levers and trigger switches as you move through ruined temples, waterfalls, and other hazards.

Waltz brings his own tools to the puzzle-solving. He uses gadget-like toys left behind by legendary craftsmen to unlock new routes and deal with enemies. Combined with Jam’s forms, these toys are the core of how you piece together the game’s environmental puzzles and uncover hidden secrets.
Seven Deadly Realms and bosses
The adventure spans seven individually crafted realms, each taking cues from a different one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Their appearances and rules vary, from unruly restaurants to fortresses crossed by light and darkness, as well as deserts sprawling like endless seas. Every realm brings new surroundings, mechanics, and enemies, then ends with a boss.

Boss fights are a trial by combat. You learn each boss’s attack patterns and work with Jam to break through them, which ties the duo’s partnership directly into the hardest encounters in each world.
The stamp system and progression
The seven stamps are more than a story goal. Clearing combat encounters imprints a stamp onto an on-screen talisman paper, which is how the game marks your progress toward the Gate of Judgement. Collecting all seven is the condition for reaching the end of Waltz’s journey.
