WARDOGS throws 100 players, vehicles, helicopters, and destructible buildings into the same match, and that combination is what eats your frame rate. Dropping every option to Low is the wrong reflex, though. A few settings in WARDOGS pay for themselves in performance, a few actively make distant enemies harder to see, and most of the rest barely move the needle either way.
Quick answer: Run your monitor’s native resolution, turn Global Illumination off, set Shadows and Reflections to Low, keep View Distance on High, cap Effects at Medium and Particle Spawn Rate at Low, disable VSync, enable NVIDIA Reflex, use DLAA (or DLSS Quality if your GPU can’t hold native), and set Field of View to 95.
Which WARDOGS settings give the biggest FPS gain
Change these before you touch anything else. Global Illumination is the single largest win, and shadows are close behind. Everything below it helps most during crowded objective fights, where explosions and smoke stack on top of each other.

Resolution is deliberately not on that list. Lowering it does raise frames, but it also shrinks and blurs the distant silhouettes you are trying to shoot, which is a bad trade on maps built around long sightlines.

The Display tab under Video controls how frames reach your monitor and how responsive the game feels, so it is worth fixing before you start cutting visual quality. Leave the resolution at whatever your monitor runs natively, whether that is 1920 x 1080 or 2560 x 1440.

VSync stays off because it adds input delay. If you have a 360Hz panel, a 360 frame limit is fine; on 144Hz, use 144. Capping far below what your system can produce just wastes headroom, but a cap slightly under your average smooths out the spikes.
NVIDIA Reflex reduces latency in the render pipeline on supported GeForce cards, and the Boost variant keeps GPU clocks higher during heavy scenes. AMD and Intel players do not get Reflex, but the rest of the list applies unchanged.
DLSS, DLAA, and FSR upscaling modes
Set the Anti-Aliasing Method to NVIDIA DLSS on GeForce RTX cards, or AMD FSR otherwise. DLAA renders at full native resolution and just applies the better anti-aliasing, so it is the cleanest image if your GPU has the headroom. If it doesn’t, step down through the upscaling modes instead of lowering your actual resolution, since upscaling holds far more clarity than a reduced render target.

Judge the result on moving targets, not still frames. Shimmering on foliage, wires, and running players is where aggressive modes fall apart, and that matters more than a slightly softer wall texture. At 1080p especially, Performance mode gets noticeably mushy because there are fewer source pixels to work with.
Graphics quality settings for FPS and visibility
Set the Overall Quality preset to Custom, then work down the list. View Distance is the one place where spending performance is genuinely worth it, because WARDOGS maps are built around long open sightlines and a lower setting hides far-off players and terrain detail.

Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flare, and Bloom all go off for the same reason. They obscure the image exactly when you need it sharpest, whether that is a fast mouse flick or looking toward the sun. Shading changes require a game restart before they take effect.
Note: If frames still dip in crowded fights after all of this, cut Effects to Low before you touch View Distance or textures.
Texture quality and VRAM
Textures lean on video memory rather than raw GPU power, so High costs very little as long as you have the VRAM for it. The menu shows a VRAM impact readout, and if you are near the ceiling you will see stuttering, hitching, or streaming pop-in instead of a clean frame rate drop.

Gameplay settings, FOV, and picture-in-picture scope
The Gameplay tab is mostly about what you can see, not how fast the game runs, with one exception. Picture-in-Picture Scope renders a second view through your optic, which is expensive, and turning it off swaps in a simpler zoom.

95 is the number to start from. Cranking FOV to the maximum widens your peripheral vision but shrinks everything in the distance, and distant infantry are already small against open ground and roads. Setting ADS FOV to Affected makes low-magnification optics scale with your base FOV instead of snapping to a fixed value.
Mouse settings and sensitivity
Sensitivity is personal, but the advanced options underneath it have clear answers. Mouse Acceleration at 0.00 means the same physical movement always turns your camera the same amount, which is the whole point of building muscle memory.

Around 0.7 to 0.8 at 800 DPI lands in useful middle ground for a tactical shooter. You can hold a crosshair steady at range without it drifting, and you can still spin around when someone appears at close range. Adjust from there based on mousepad size, and drop the ADS Multiplier below 1.00 later if long-range tracking feels twitchy.
Keybinds worth remapping
The default binds work, but a handful of changes free up your left hand for movement while leaning and holding breath. Swapping the lean keys is the odd one that takes a day to get used to and then feels obvious.

Lean Left on E and Lean Right on Q are swapped on purpose. It puts the lean key on the same side as the strafe key you are already pressing, so peeking a corner while sidestepping stops fighting your fingers. Moving Sprint to Caps Lock leaves Left Shift free for Focus.
Helicopter controls and flight assists
Rotary aircraft are the settings most worth fixing before your first flight. Under Rotary Vehicle Mouse Control, set Helicopter Mouse Swipe Left/Right to Yaw and Helicopter Mouse Swipe Up/Down to Pitch, which maps the mouse to the two axes you actually steer with.

Stability Assist and Auto-Hover Assist both live under Flight Assists in the Controls menu. Leave them on unless you already fly comfortably without them, since they hold the aircraft level while you deal with everything else happening around you.

Audio settings for directional sound
There is one setting in the Audio tab that matters competitively. Turn 3D Spatial Audio on so footsteps, gunfire, and rotor noise carry usable direction. Beyond that, pulling menu and in-game music down removes noise that masks those cues, while keeping Effects and UI Volume high.

Gamepad and interface settings
Controller players get their own tab, split by role. The Infantry tab handles on-foot stick axes and button layout separately from the vehicle and aircraft profiles, so changing one does not affect how you fly.

In the Interface tab, keep Adaptive Crosshair on while you are learning weapon behavior, since it shows you what is widening your spread. Leave most HUD elements on Always On early, then switch individual ones like the Chatbox to Dynamic once you no longer need them permanently on screen.

How to check the changes worked
Menu frame rates tell you nothing. Test in a live match during a contested objective fight, because that is the workload that breaks frame pacing. Note your average before and after each round of changes so you know which setting actually did the work.

If the average number looks fine but the game still hitches, that is usually a VRAM or shader cache problem rather than a settings problem. Lower Texture Streaming first, clear the shader cache after a driver update or major patch, and close overlays and background downloads before you launch.
Note: WARDOGS runs Easy Anti-Cheat. Stick to the in-game menus and official GPU driver software, and skip third-party optimizer tools or downloaded config packs that edit game files.
None of these values are permanent. Start with the list above, play a few matches, and then push one thing back up at a time. Shadows at Medium and Mesh Detail at High are the first two worth restoring if your frame rate holds, because they cost the least in visibility terms. Global Illumination is the last thing to switch back on, and only once everything else already sits comfortably above your target.
