WARDOGS: How to Get a Vehicle (Prices and Unlock Levels)

Vendor steps, the entry prompt, and the Driver, Pilot, and Wardog gates that decide which tiles will sell to you.

Vehicles in WARDOGS are bought, not spawned. Everything with wheels or rotors comes out of the same persistent cash balance you spend on guns, which means a quad bike and a gunship are both financial decisions rather than a loadout choice. The whole transaction happens at one place in the safe zone, and it takes about thirty seconds once you know where to stand.

Quick answer: Open your map inside the safe zone, find the Vehicle Vendor marker, walk to the station, pick a tile under the LAND or AIR tab, and click buy. The cash comes off your balance immediately and the vehicle appears in the spawn area next to the vendor, where pressing F puts you in the driver’s seat.

How to buy a vehicle from the Vehicle Vendor

Open your map while you are inside the SAFE ZONE and look for the Vehicle Vendor icon. It sits apart from the Deployment Board, so check both markers before you start running — they are close together but they are not the same station.

Walk to the physical vendor station. It is a stall under a camo canopy, not a menu you can open from anywhere, so you have to be standing at it to trade.

Open the vendor menu and choose a top-level tab. The stock is split into LAND and AIR, with filters underneath — ARTILLERY, TECH and TRANSPORT on the ground side, and COMBAT and TRANSPORT in the air.
Read the tile before you commit. Each one prints SEATS, MAX SPEED (KM/H), FUEL CAPACITY (L), FUEL ECONOMY (L/H) and COUNTER MEASURES, which is the fastest way to tell a disposable runabout from something you are supposed to fight in.
Buy it. There is no confirmation prompt and no cart — one click completes the purchase and the money leaves your balance at that instant. Misclicking an expensive tile costs you the full price.
Back out of the menu and walk to the parking area beside the vendor. Your vehicle is already sitting there. Approach it and the prompt reads ENTER Driver [F], with a separate REPOSITION Vehicle option if it spawned somewhere awkward.

Ground controls are conventional: W and S for throttle and brake, A and D to steer, Space for the handbrake, and R for reverse gear, which mostly matters in a tank when you want to back off while still facing the enemy. L locks the vehicle so nobody else can drive away in something you paid for, G drops a supply crate without leaving the seat, and V fires countermeasures.

Level gates and one-time unlock fees

Most tiles will not sell to you on day one. Three separate counters gate the roster, and they do not feed each other. Driver level covers ground transport, Pilot level covers helicopters, and Wardog level sits on the heavy armour. Hours behind a wheel buy you nothing in the air.

Many gated vehicles also carry a one-time cash unlock on top of the level requirement. That fee is paid once to add the vehicle to your vendor stock — it does not replace the purchase price, which you still pay every single time you buy one.

Z20 Lakota [Miniguns]$8,000Pilot 25$75,000
AH-6R [Rockets]$12,500Pilot 20$250,000

The Flakpanzer Gepard, the anti-air tank, sells for $10,000. Tanks and artillery read against Wardog level rather than Driver, so they are not something you can specialise into early — you get there by playing, at the pace the game sets.

The cheap end of the land tab is the exception worth knowing about. The Bobcat quad bike and the base Kodiak carry no level requirement at all, so a new account can buy a ride on its first match without touching the Driver track.

Free vehicles you do not have to buy

If your balance is thin, two options cost nothing. A few minutes into a match, a large transport helicopter and an SUV appear at the team spawn for anyone to take. They are first come, first served, and they are the standard answer when you cannot afford to lose anything.

The second is the team spawn vehicle. Once any team in the match reaches 20 points, all three teams receive an armoured spawn vehicle at their base. You deploy it by interacting with the large computer at base and selecting the vehicle, then drive it somewhere safe — your whole team can spawn on it wherever it is parked, with roughly a ten-minute cooldown per player between uses.

Note: the spawn vehicle has a specific weak point. Destroy the satellite dish on top and it stops working until somebody repairs it, which applies to yours and the enemy’s equally.

Check these before you drive away

A purchase gets you the vehicle, not necessarily a working one. Mounted weapons are not always loaded when you buy, so top up ammo at the base vendor before you leave rather than discovering an empty minigun in the hot zone.

Fuel is finite on everything, ground and air alike. Refill at base or carry a gas can bought from the base vendor, because a dry tank far from a supply point means walking. Carry a repair tool as well — repairs pay cash and XP, the tool runs on batteries, and a rolled vehicle can be flipped back and fixed automatically in the repair area at base rather than written off.

Why a vendor tile will not sell to you

There are only a few reasons a purchase fails, and none of them are bugs:

  • Your cash balance is below the listed price. The purchase is instant and there is no partial payment.
  • You have not reached the level printed on the tile, on the correct track — Driver for ground, Pilot for aircraft, Wardog for tanks and artillery.
  • You meet the level but have not paid the one-time unlock fee, which leaves the entry greyed out with a padlock.
  • You are looking under the wrong tab. Helicopters never appear under LAND, and the sub-filters hide anything outside the category you selected.

You know it worked when the cash drops off your balance the moment you click and the vehicle is physically sitting in the lot beside the vendor. If the money left and you cannot find it, walk the parking area — the spawn point is nearby, not at your feet.

The cheap tiles exist for a reason. Cash carries between matches and whatever you lose stays lost, so the sensible early habit is buying the smallest thing that gets you to the fight, abandoning it, and buying another — and letting the gunships wait until your Pilot level and your balance can both absorb them.
