August packs the Origin System with a summer event, a fresh Nightwave season, new cosmetics, and a balance change that hits one of the most popular Helminth builds. Nothing here is a full-blown expansion, but the calendar is busy, and a few items are worth acting on early before their in-game prices shift.

Dog Days 2026 returns August 4
The annual seaside water-fight event is back on August 4. Dog Days runs continuous Event Alerts, weekly Floaty of Fury Alerts, and Affinity Booster Weekends, and it hands out summer cosmetics like the Daybreak Dax Syandana and Community Dog Days Glyphs.
There’s a second reason to play it even if beach gear isn’t your thing. The event store lets you buy the weapon Augment mods that Kela de Thaym normally drops, including Acid Shells for the Sobek and Nightwatch Napalm for the Ogris. Farming the event to stock up on these is a practical way to grab mods you can use or sell later.
Nightwave Mix: Amir’s Shockwave starts August 12
The Hex hacker Amir hosts the next Nightwave season, Amir’s Shockwave, beginning August 12. The broadcast leans into the 1999 theme and offers new rewards such as the Globakk Syandana, the Kaneshell Atomicycle Regalia, and the Teisatz Oculus.
Two economy changes ship with this season and are worth planning around:
- Biotic Fiber, Leaded Gas, Sentient Surge, and Vile Discharge move into the Cred shop. Once they’re easy to buy, their player-market prices are likely to fall, so the first week of August is the window to sell any spares before values drop.
- The Nightwave Cred shop will permanently stock every Aura mod, while Augment mods and cosmetics still rotate. Buying Auras to flip for Platinum stops being viable from this season on.
Fables & Frontiers: Running Late, TennoGen, and a new song
August 12 also brings Fables & Frontiers: Running Late, a small-scale KIM narrative adventure. Amir walks you through an in-game take on the Fables & Frontiers tabletop game from Warframe: 1999, and completing it earns rewards like the Atomicycle Key Sugatra and Fables & Frontiers Glyphs. This adds a permanent room, the Fables and Frontiers Hollvanai space, making it the month’s only lasting content drop.
The matching TennoGen: Fables & Frontiers batch arrives the same day with community-made customizations, including the Kullervo Ascophilia Skin, the Haemadys Mask, and the Oraxia Agamva Helmet. Alongside it, On-lyne returns with “Running Late,” a track from composers Keith Power and Matthew Chalmers. Jade Stars nerf and other balance changes
The largest gameplay shift lands on August 12. Jade Stars gets a line-of-sight check, meaning its motes now need a clear line to enemies before the procs and damage apply. That breaks builds that pushed damage through walls, such as pairing Rhino’s Reinforcing Stomp and Piercing Roar to trigger Jade Stars across rooms, or laying lethal area traps with Wisp’s Shock motes.
Setups that already required line of sight, like using Jade Stars on Vauban to feed Arcane Hot Shot, stay largely intact. To offset the change, Sirius and Orion gain Slash and Heat procs triggered by Celestial Clash, which helps the duo against higher-level enemies without being a dramatic power swing.
A couple of related notes: Hildryn is unaffected for now, and the EDA and ETA tweaks are landing in a later patch rather than in August. Signa Axis changes also arrive on August 12.
Prime Resurgence: Revenant Prime and Baruuk Prime
A Revenant Prime and Baruuk Prime dual-pack rotates into Prime Resurgence on August 6. The standout pull is the Phantasma Prime shotgun, a strong status-stacking weapon that holds up across general content all the way to level cap. Its set tends to sell for a lot once it leaves rotation, so this is the window to grab it directly.
The Baruuk Deluxe Skin also releases on August 12 for players who want a new look to go with the frame.
Double-Affinity weekends for leveling and Railjack
Five Double-Affinity weekends fall on August 6, 13, 20, 27, and September 3. They stack with any Affinity booster you own or earn from the 1999 Calendar, Sorties, and Archon Hunts, so they’re the best times to rank up a backlog of gear or push Forma. They’re also ideal for farming Railjack Intrinsics in endless Proxima nodes.
No new Warframe or signature equipment is arriving this month, with the next unique frame release likely landing in September.
