Warframe is ending its Riven Disposition system. Beginning with Thursday’s hotfix, all Rivens will share one stat range, making a weapon’s former Disposition irrelevant to its Riven’s strength. The update also sets Ammo Efficiency’s ceiling at 75%. Effects that previously reached 100% will now provide Infinite Ammo for a limited time. Digital Extremes revealed both updates on October 20 through a Dev Workshop and Devshorts #120. Riven trading remains disabled until the hotfix is live.
Quick answer: After Thursday’s hotfix (October 22, 2026), every Riven’s stats equal a Disposition of 1.2. To find your new values, multiply your Riven’s current values by 1.2 divided by the weapon’s old Disposition.

What Thursday’s Warframe hotfix changes
Both changes ship together, along with an inbox compensation package. Digital Extremes has said the hotfix lands Thursday but has not given a time of day.
| Change | What happens |
|---|---|
| Riven Disposition | Fixed at 1.2 for every weapon |
| Ammo Efficiency | Hard cap of 75% |
| 100% sources | Relabeled or reworked as Infinite Ammo |
| Riven trading | Disabled until the hotfix |
| Compensation | Forma and Kuva by inbox |

Add to Google Preferences →How Riven stats change when Disposition is fixed at 1.2
Disposition used to be a multiplier on every stat a weapon’s Riven could roll. It ranged from 0.5 to 1.55. Weapons that were popular or strong got low numbers, and older or weaker weapons got high ones. That multiplier now becomes 1.2 for every weapon. On the old dot scale, 1.2 is four out of five.
Your Rivens will retain their traits and won’t be rerolled or removed; their associated values are the only things that change. Because the numbers vary proportionally with Disposition, you can calculate the adjustment by dividing 1.2 by the weapon’s previous value. Negative traits follow that rule too, meaning a harmful negative on a weapon with low Disposition becomes more pronounced.
| Old Disposition | Stat change | Example weapons |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 | +140% (2.4x) | Nunchasa, Aksondol, Kuva Nukor |
| 0.6 | +100% | Grimoire, Felarx, Phenmor |
| 0.65 | +85% | Nataruk, Xoris, Ignis Wraith |
| 0.7 | +71% | Kuva Ogris, Rubico Prime |
| 0.85 | +41% | Gotva Prime |
| 0.9 | +33% | Staticor |
| 1.0 | +20% | Kuva Hek |
| 1.2 | No change | Boltor Prime, Hek, Lex Prime |
| 1.25 | −4% | Dual Ichor |
| 1.3 | −8% | Verglas Prime |
| 1.35 | −11% | Burston Prime |
| 1.48 | −19% | Heat Sword |
| 1.55 | −23% | Harpak, Flux Rifle |
Here’s a worked example. A Riven with +150% Critical Chance on a 0.65 weapon rises to about +277% after the hotfix. The same roll on a 1.55 weapon falls to about +116%. Individual rolls still matter, because a good roll stays better than a bad one on the same weapon.

Weapons that gain Riven power
Weapons previously at 0.5 receive the largest boosts. All weapons introduced since 2020 began at that minimum and gained Disposition gradually through adjustments over the years; they will now rise directly to 1.2. This covers Narin’s signature Nunchasa and Aksondol, Steflos Prime, Corufell Prime, Kuva Nukor, Laetum, and the Mausolon Archgun. Several popular endgame weapons also gain substantially after being kept low: Acceltra Prime, Epitaph Prime, and Cedo Prime increase from 0.55. From here on, newly released weapons will have full-strength Rivens from day one.
Weapons that lose Riven power
Disposition falls for two categories. One is a limited selection of powerful Incarnon Genesis weapons, including Burston Prime, Dual Ichor, and Torid, which receive only small reductions. The other consists of older weapons with low Mastery that had been given very high Dispositions to keep them viable. Harpak, Flux Rifle, Kraken, Magnus, Aklato, Cestra, Tetra, and Seer drop by 20% to 23%. Each variant is treated independently: the standard Flux Rifle goes down, for instance, while the Tenet Flux Rifle stays unchanged.
Small cuts can still break builds that depend on breakpoints. Verglas Prime drops from 1.3 to 1.2, which can push a Critical Chance roll below the threshold needed for Tenacious Bond.
After the hotfix, Rivens stop moving on their own. No more quarterly adjustments are planned, so a Riven’s values change only when you reroll it.

Ammo Efficiency cap rules
Riven Splicers made Ammo Efficiency easy to add to a Riven. That turned permanent infinite ammo into a standard part of some builds. Digital Extremes’ stated concern is builds that play themselves, so infinite ammo is meant to be a temporary buff rather than a permanent build trait. Here is how the cap works:
- Ammo Efficiency maxes out at 75%, so only 1 in 4 shots uses ammo.
- The cap applies to the total from every source combined, not to each source separately.
- It covers all equipment that uses ammo, including Necramechs and Amps.
- Effects meant to give 100% are now labeled Infinite Ammo and ignore the cap while they are active.
Infinite Ammo sources that stay the same
These effects work exactly as before. Only their buff descriptions change to say Infinite Ammo:
- Void Relic cracking buffs
- Chamber Cascade (Akmagnus Prime and Magnus Prime unique trait)
- Overdrive (Athodai and Athodai Prime unique trait)
- Frenzy (Dual Toxocyst unique trait)
- Death Knell (Knell and Knell Prime unique trait)
- Gale Force (Perigale and Perigale Prime unique trait)
- Reaper’s Plenty (Vasto Incarnon evolution)

Reworked Ammo Efficiency sources
Five effects change. The values below are at max rank, with unranked values in the notes after the table.
| Source | Trigger | Before | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arcane Pistoleer | Pistol weak point kill | 60% chance, +102% for 12s | 60% chance, Infinite Ammo for 12s |
| Brain Storm (Grakata) | Headshot | +100% for 0.5s | 40% chance, Infinite Ammo for 2s |
| Skull Shots (Viper) | Headshot | 100% for 2s | 40% chance, Infinite Ammo for 2s |
| Enough for Everyone (Bronco) | 6 enemies within 6m | +80% | +75% |
| Crimson Overture (Dera, Boltor) | On kill, 5s | +20%, stacks 4x | +25%, stacks 3x |
At unranked, Arcane Pistoleer has a 10% chance to trigger. Brain Storm and Skull Shots both have a 10% chance at unranked and last 0.5 seconds. Crimson Overture’s Base Damage bonus does not change, and it still reaches the 75% cap at full stacks. In practice, Arcane Pistoleer builds still get real infinite ammo, but in timed bursts rather than permanently.

Riven trading freeze and Arsenal Retuning compensation
Riven trading stays disabled until the hotfix goes live. This stops a rush of sales before values change. Compensation arrives automatically by inbox, and there is no code to redeem.
| Who qualifies | Reward |
|---|---|
| Any player who logs in after the hotfix | 1 Built Forma + 100,000 Kuva |
| Players who installed a Riven Splicer before the hotfix | 1 Riven Splicer + 100,000 Kuva (separate inbox) |
The general Arsenal Retuning inbox is only sent to players who log in before December 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
You’ll know the changes are live when three things happen. Thursday’s hotfix notes are posted, the Arsenal Retuning message appears in your inbox, and Riven trading opens again. Check your Rivens in the Arsenal after that, since their numbers will already reflect the new 1.2 range. Read the hotfix notes as well. They include the Acid Shell changes teased in Devshorts #120 and any last-minute adjustments to the values above.
