Menos Grande is not a creature you track down on the map in VV: Ultimatum. It is the first evolution stage of the Hollow race, so you “find” it by progressing your own character rather than by traveling to a fixed spot. If you picked Hollow, you start as a weaker base form and grow into a Menos as you build up evolution progress.
Quick answer: Play as a Hollow, then keep killing and consuming other Hollows to gain evolution progress until you transform into a Menos. On the original starter route this triggers once you are a Fishbone and reach level 7.
Where Menos Grande sits in the Hollow evolution chain
The Hollow race evolves through a fixed order. Menos Grande is the first major step, and it leads into two stronger forms after it. You cannot skip ahead, and the path you take later decides how many trait slots you end with.
| Stage | Position | Trait slots |
|---|---|---|
| Base Hollow / Fishbone | Starting form | 2 |
| Menos Grande | First evolution | 2 |
| Adjuchas | Second evolution | 3 |
| Vasto Lorde | Third and final evolution | 4 |

You must be playing the Hollow race to reach a Menos at all. Shinigami and Quincy progress through entirely different systems and never see this form. When you create a Hollow, you choose one of four starting creature types, each with its own stat slant.
| Starting type | Effect |
|---|---|
| Gorilla | Balanced, no buffs or debuffs |
| Turtle | +Defense, -Speed |
| Lizard | +Speed, -Defense |
| Centipede | +Speed, -Defense, -Damage |
Your starting type also decides which form you fight later in the Resurrección battle, so the choice matters beyond raw stats. Either way, all four routes feed into the same shared Hollow evolution chain that begins with Menos Grande.
How to evolve into Menos Grande
You will know it worked because your form changes into the larger Menos and you gain the Cero ability. That new attack is the clearest sign the evolution went through.
The Menoscar trap: do not press L too early
Once you are a Menos, you can rip off your mask by pressing L on PC. Doing this immediately turns you into a Menoscar, an Arrancar that is permanently capped at two trait slots and cannot evolve any further. It is a dead end for anyone aiming at the stronger forms.
Note: Keep your mask on as a Menos. To continue growing, keep killing Hollows so you advance toward Adjuchas instead of locking yourself out of the later trait slots.
What comes after Menos Grande
From the Menos stage, the next target is Adjuchas, which unlocks a third trait slot. That step is tied to the Primal Urges pt. 1 quest, which asks you to kill 8 of any Hollow and destroy 60 objects. Most trees count toward the object total, but bamboo and houses do not.
After Adjuchas, the path to Vasto Lorde runs through Primal Urges pt. 2, which requires 70 kills. Some enemies give bonus progress, such as the Giant Dragonfly at +5, and defeating other players in PvP grants 10 points each. Vasto Lorde is the strongest Hollow form and the only one that gives a fourth trait slot before you finally remove your mask to become an Arrancar.
So when you are looking for Menos Grande, treat it as a milestone you earn rather than a location to reach. Stay in your starting Hollow form, feed on other Hollows, hit level 7, and resist the urge to press L until you have climbed as far up the chain as you want to go.
