The lighthouse most players are hunting in Fortnite right now is Squibbly’s Point Lighthouse, a small structure built on its own island just off the Squibbly Shores point of interest. It matters because it holds the Lighthouse Vault, a Chapter 7 Season 2 stash that drops guaranteed Rare and Epic gear without needing to fight a boss.

Quick answer: Head to the west side of Squibbly Shores and look for the small island with the lighthouse. The vault is on the first floor, just inside the front door.

Squibbly Shores lighthouse location

Squibbly’s Point Lighthouse stands on a small island just off the main Squibbly Shores area, toward the west side. Glide down and walk in through the front door, and you’ll see the vault straight away. It’s a screen with a keypad mounted on a green pole, sitting on the ground floor.

The vault is not up in the tower, so don’t bother climbing. It’s the first thing in front of you once you step inside. You also can’t interact with the keypad until you’re carrying the keycard, so there’s no point trying to use it before you’ve gone fishing.

How to get the Lighthouse Keycard

The keycard isn’t in a chest or carried by an NPC. You fish it out of a glowing blue spot in the water around the lighthouse island. Only one keycard exists per match, so the first squad to grab it locks everyone else out.

Grab a fishing rod from one of the barrels nearby. There’s a barrel on each pier next to the lighthouse, plus one on the north edge of the small ruined island just north of it, right beside a single green tree.

Find the blue fishing pool. Look for a turquoise patch in the water with a faint rainbow shimmer that sets it apart from normal fishing spots. You can often spot it from the air while you’re still gliding in.
Cast your line directly into the glowing pool and wait for the lure to dip under the surface before you reel.

Reel in. The keycard drops nearby for you to pick up. If the shiny pool vanishes after you reel, that confirms you caught it. The pool moves to different spots in the surrounding water each match, so scan the whole shoreline if it isn’t where you expect.

Note: If you miss the bite on your first cast, you may pull up a loot chest instead. Just keep casting into the same pool until the keycard appears.

How to open the vault

With the keycard in your inventory, return to the lighthouse and walk up to the scanner on the green pole. Open your inventory, hover over the keycard, then interact with the scanner. The vault opens immediately and drops its loot in front of you.

You’ll know it worked when the vault drops the rewards on the floor. The full run, from landing to opening, takes roughly two to three minutes if you move quickly, which is usually fast enough to finish before the first storm circle closes.

If you reach the water and the blue pool is already gone, another player has fished up the keycard. In that case, the vault is open or about to be, so rotate out and look for loot elsewhere.

Open your inventory, hover over the keycard, then interact with the scanner.

What the Lighthouse Vault drops

The vault doesn’t hand out anything exclusive, but the quality stays consistently high. You can expect two weapons pulled from the standard Chapter 7 Season 2 pool at Rare or Epic rarity, alongside healing items and a Pro Fishing Rod.

Pro Fishing RodFishes more efficiently anywhere on the map

The Pro Fishing Rod is the standout pickup. It speeds up fishing across the map, which carries weight in a season where fishing spots can hold meaningful loot. Two high-tier weapons plus that rod, all from a short detour, makes the lighthouse run worth the stop even when nothing in the vault is unique.
