Flickering Hope is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that starts at a locked wooden house in Ascendant Peak, near the Wayfarer (Heaven’s Threshold) teleport point. Finishing it depends on switching the in-game time back and forth, stealing a room key from a night-only NPC, and then chaining into the follow-up tale, A Radiant Resolve. The whole run moves through three spots: the wooden house, a cliff ledge near the railway tracks, and Goldflow Slope.
Quick answer: Set the time to Zi (night) and use Celestial Seize on Pan Kui to grab Uncle Pan’s key, switch to Si (day) to unlock the door and free Yueya, then jump to the cliff ledge at night, beat two Qiangqi disciples, talk to A Wu, and at Goldflow Slope equip and activate Nightborne Glow to finish both tales.
What you need before starting
Two systems carry this quest. You must be able to change the time of day from the menu, and you need the Celestial Seize skill along with Wind Sense to spot and grab the key. Nightborne Glow is used only at the very end, so you do not need it equipped until Goldflow Slope.

Walk up to the closed wooden house in Ascendant Peak and interact with the door. This begins Flickering Hope, and the first clue tells you to search the area at night to find Uncle Pan’s key.

Use Wind Sense to locate the key on Pan Kui, then use Celestial Seize to steal it. The item is a plain room key, described in-game as one you use to open a door during the day. A new clue then confirms Pan Kui was carrying it.

Note: The key cannot be obtained after defeat, so take it with Celestial Seize rather than fighting Pan Kui down.
Open the door with the key and speak to Yueya inside. She explains that she is searching for her “flying lantern” treasure, which points you toward the next location.
Reach the cliff ledge and beat the Qiangqi disciples
Teleport to Wayfarer (Heaven’s Threshold) and follow the cliffside path until you reach a broken platform near the railway tracks.

Interact with A Wu to speak with him. This conversation unlocks A Radiant Resolve, which is Ascendant Peak Part 2 and the direct continuation of the tale.

Light the fireflies at Goldflow Slope to finish both tales
Open the martial arts menu and equip Nightborne Glow from the Support tab. The skill summons a swirl of fireflies that cast gentle light for 30 seconds in the dark.
Activate Nightborne Glow next to A Wu and Yueya to summon the fireflies. This plays the closing dialogue and completes both Flickering Hope and A Radiant Resolve.
How to confirm both tales are done and claim rewards
Once the firefly scene ends, open the Wandering Tales menu. Both Flickering Hope and A Radiant Resolve show as completed, and you can claim rewards for each. Every tale hands over Jade Fish, Trace Jade, and other materials.
If the sequence stalls, the cause is almost always a missed time change. The door will not open unless you are in the Si hour, Pan Kui only appears in the Zi hour, and the cliff jump is meant to be done at night. Reset the clock to the correct hour for the step you are on, and the objective advances as expected.
