Where Winds Meet: How to Complete the Nameless Elder Interaction After Golden Colossus Taicu

Defeating the world boss Golden Colossus Taicu opens a quiet, easy-to-miss follow-up at the lake in Where Winds Meet. Once the fog lifts, the Nameless Elder appears at a workbench on the bank, but he will not speak to you until you recover two relics hidden in the water and wreckage nearby.

Quick answer: After beating Golden Colossus Taicu, wait for the fog to clear, pick up the Golden Colossi Bamboo Slip and the Mohist Hill Disciple Engraving from the lake, then submit both to the Nameless Elder to trigger the lore cutscene.

Prerequisite: Defeat Golden Colossus Taicu to clear the fog

The Nameless Elder interaction only becomes available after Golden Colossus Taicu is defeated. You find this world boss in the Hidden Mountain region, in the Heaven’s Threshold area. Open the world map and travel to the marked world boss location before heading in.

The approach takes you through a misty swamp toward the giant’s silhouette. When you reach it, the encounter begins with a cutscene and the “Break the Maze” prompt.

Taicu is a mechanics-driven fight. You start trapped in the Labyrinth Formation, where the boss cannot be damaged, so you have to lure it into three pillars to smash them and clear the fog. After that you lower its HP, climb its arm and body using the Cloud Step points, destroy both arm joints to remove its Aura of Might, break the core, and finish by climbing to its head.

Collect the two quest items at the lake

With the boss down and the fog gone, walk through the shallow water toward the grassy bank, where the Nameless Elder is working at a wooden workbench. Do not talk to him yet. The two relics you need are close by in the water around him.

Wade into the shallows on the elder’s right and interact with the large golden sphere mechanism beside the lake. Open it to claim the Golden Colossi Bamboo Slip.

Move deeper into the water toward the large submerged wreckage plates nearby. Pick up the engraved stone relic there, the Mohist Hill Disciple Engraving.

Check the surrounding shallows before returning. The interact prompt for the Nameless Elder stays inactive until both items are in your inventory.

Submit both items to the Nameless Elder

Once you have both relics, go back to the workbench; the Nameless Elder is ready to talk. Press F to begin the conversation. A brief cutscene shows him speaking to you as he hammers at his bench.

When the submit interface opens, select both the Mohist Hill Disciple Engraving and the Golden Colossi Bamboo Slip, then press Space to submit them.

How to confirm the interaction is complete

Once both relics are submitted, a concluding dialogue sequence plays automatically. The elder and the accompanying text describe the craft of the Golden Colossi, the role of the Qiongqi in serving Qin and unifying the Six States, and how the technique was lost when the Qiongqi fractured and one half became Mohist Hill. Seeing this final cutscene play through confirms the interaction is finished.

You can locate the whole sequence on the map inside the Hidden Mountain, Heaven’s Threshold region, sitting west of Old Mohist City. If the elder still will not talk after the fight, one of the two relics has not been picked up yet, so return to the golden sphere and the submerged wreckage before trying again.
