Volutefit is one of the easier Inner Ways to add to your collection in Where Winds Meet, because it skips the usual chain of legacy clues and multi-stage quests. There is no boss to beat and no page hunt across two regions. One teleport, one chest, and the passive is yours at full comprehension.
Quick answer: Teleport to the Scripture Hall landmark in Qinghe’s Sundara Land, then open the glowing chest inside the building to receive the Volutefit Tome and unlock the Inner Way at 100% comprehension.
What Volutefit does
Volutefit is a defensive passive tied to the Winebound states, which are the Inebriate and Intoxicated buffs you build through Mystic Skills. It trades a slice of damage-over-time protection for flat mitigation against direct hits, so it only pays off if your build actually spends time drunk.
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Inner Way (passive, DMG Reduction, Mystic Skills) |
| Effect | While in Winebound states, take 5% less direct damage and 10% more damage over time |
| Winebound states | Inebriate and Intoxicated, gained through Mystic Skills |
| Region | Qinghe — Sundara Land |
| Unlock method | Chest inside the Scripture Hall |
Note: Inner Ways occupy one of only four equip slots, and the game lets you slot passives that do nothing for your current weapon. Volutefit is dead weight unless you are running Mystic Skills that apply Inebriate or Intoxicated.

Open the Inner Way menu and inspect the locked Volutefit entry, and the legacy clue reads that beneath the Qinghe Scripture Hall, an old master’s journal lies hidden among thousands of ancient tomes. That is the whole puzzle. The Scripture Hall is a named landmark, so you do not need to comb the area on foot.
The building sits in Sundara Land, the Qinghe sub-region. Pull up the world map, filter to Qinghe, and look for the Scripture Hall marker with the Landmark – Teleport tag attached to it.

How to get the Volutefit Tome

Confirming the unlock
Head back into the Inner Way menu and find Volutefit in the list. It should read Comprehension +100% and no longer appear locked, which means the passive is fully learned and ready to equip. Unlike Inner Ways assembled from scattered pages, this one does not sit at partial comprehension waiting on extra fragments.
If the entry still shows as locked, the chest was not the one you needed or the tome went uncollected. The chest is inside the Scripture Hall, not in the surrounding area, and it is the only pickup that grants this tome.
Slotting it into a build
The 5% direct damage cut applies only while a Winebound state is active, and it comes with a 10% penalty to damage over time taken during that window. Against enemies that lean on burst hits, that is a straightforward trade. Against poison, bleed, or burn pressure, the passive can leave you worse off than an empty slot.
Once equipped, Volutefit follows the same progression rules as every other Inner Way. Tiers are pushed with its own Notes, obtained through Tips Exchange, seasonal shops, and Inner Way Note chests, and Breakthrough only opens up after you reach Solo Mode Level 4.
Since the whole run takes under a minute from the map screen, it is worth grabbing on any character even if you are not currently building around Mystic Skills. The tome is permanent, and the slot decision can wait until your Winebound rotation is ready.
