Heal three sick villagers in Mirkvale, settle the wine dispute with Di Juan, and claim the quest rewards.

Toxic Traditions is a Wandering Tale in the Hidden Mountain region of Where Winds Meet, and it starts with a family that has poisoned itself with homemade wine. The whole chain runs on healing, two deliveries, and one very unlucky roast chicken.

Quick answer: In Mirkvale (Heaven’s Threshold, Hidden Mountain), heal Du Dazhuang, Gou’er, and Cai Sanniang of Indigestion with inner energy, take the clue to Di Juan at her shop, bring her Sweet Slumber wine back to Cai Sanniang, then deliver the Apologetic Roast Chicken to Di Juan to unlock the ending.

Where Toxic Traditions starts in Hidden Mountain

The quest lives in Mirkvale, a settlement inside the Heaven’s Threshold area of Hidden Mountain. Open the map, travel to Mirkvale, and head into the village house where three NPCs are sitting around looking miserable. All three are afflicted with Indigestion, and none of them will talk properly until they are treated.

Note: healing is the entry point here, so you need the ability to treat ailments with inner energy before the tale can progress.

Heal all three villagers to unlock the clue

Walk up to Du Dazhuang inside the house and interact with him. Diagnose the ailment as Indigestion and treat it with inner energy.

Turn to Gou’er and repeat the process. Same diagnosis, same treatment.
Finish with Cai Sanniang. Curing her clears the last of the three cases and opens up the conversation that actually starts the tale.
Talk to Cai Sanniang afterwards. She admits the wine she brewed at home was the culprit and blames the Di family, who she believes shorted her on a delivery of Sweet Slumber. She also suspects monkeys made off with the original batch. A “Wandering Tales – New Clue Acquired” prompt appears, and Toxic Traditions is logged in your journal.

Settle the wine dispute with Di Juan

Follow the clue marker to Di Juan, who is found at her shop nearby. Bring up the Cai family’s complaint.

Hear her out. The delivery was never withheld, and monkeys from Reflection Rise took the wine. As an apology she hands over Sweet Slumber, two bottles of it.
Return to Cai Sanniang’s home in Mirkvale and give her the wine. She accepts the peace offering and cooks an Apologetic Roast Chicken, a drunken chicken dish, to send back.
Carry the chicken back to Di Juan and hand it over. She eats it, and promptly gets sick herself, which finishes the dialogue and unlocks the Toxic Traditions ending.

How to confirm the quest completed

The on-screen “Toxic Traditions Ending Unlocked” notice is the confirmation. After that, open your Journal and claim the rewards from the Wandering Tales entry, since they are not pushed to you automatically.

Two things stall this tale. If the clue never appears, one of the three villagers is still untreated, so re-check each of them inside the house. If the Sweet Slumber handover does not register, you have not spoken to Di Juan about the Cai family matter yet, and the wine is only given after that conversation.

It is a short tale by Hidden Mountain standards, and the only real requirement is being able to treat Indigestion. Clear the three patients first and the rest is two round trips between Cai Sanniang’s house and Di Juan’s shop.
