Microsoft ships many Windows 11 features long before they show up in Settings, holding them back for staged or A/B rollouts. ViveTool is the command-line tool that flips those hidden switches on your own PC using numeric feature IDs tied to specific builds and updates.
ViveTool is a third-party utility built by independent developers and hosted on GitHub. It is not supported by Microsoft, and feature IDs can stop working or change meaning between builds, so treat any code below as build-specific rather than universal.

How to enable a ViveTool code on Windows 11
ViveTool works from an elevated Command Prompt. Some newer codes, like the Administrator Protection or Start menu customization entries above, need their listed prerequisite IDs enabled first, or nothing will change after a reboot.
Download the current ViveTool release for your processor type (Intel/AMD or Snapdragon Arm64) from the ViveTool releases page on GitHub, then unblock and extract the ZIP file to a short folder path such as
C:\Tools\ViVe.Open Start, search for “cmd,” right-click Command Prompt, and choose “Run as administrator” to get an elevated session.
Run the enable command with the ID (or comma-separated IDs) for the feature you want, then repeat for any prerequisite codes.
vivetool /enable /id:57048231Restart the PC, or at minimum sign out and back in, so Explorer and the affected components pick up the new configuration. If the interface element or setting shows up as described, the code applied successfully; if nothing changes after a reboot, the ID likely does not match your current build.
How to disable or reset a ViveTool code
To turn a single feature back off, run the same command with /disable instead of /enable, followed by the same ID.
vivetool /disable /id:57048231To clear every custom override at once and return Windows 11 to its default feature configuration, use the full reset command and confirm with “Y” when prompted, then restart.
vivetool /fullresetNote: some builds now include a built-in Feature Flags page in Settings, under Windows Update > Windows Insider Program > Feature Flags, which lets you toggle certain experimental features without touching the command line at all.
Because these IDs come from build-specific feature configurations, expect some to stop working after a cumulative update or version upgrade, and check back for newer codes as fresh builds ship.
