Darnassus hides its bank in plain sight. Instead of a stone building with a door and a sign, the night elf capital carves its vault straight into a tree on the island at the heart of the city, which is why new Alliance players often run the full loop of terraces without ever spotting it.
Quick answer: At roughly 42.5, 43.7 on the Darnassus map, enter the tree on the island in the Temple Gardens to find the bank. The guild vault is positioned to either side of that tree.
Darnassus bank location and map coordinates
Darnassus is laid out as a ring of terraces around a central tree surrounded by water, with bridges joining each section. The bank occupies that central tree on the island between the Temple Gardens and the Cenarion Enclave, so every route into it crosses a bridge.

Coordinates drift by a point or so depending on which side of the trunk you stand on, so anything in the 42, 43 range means you are on the right island.
How to reach the bank tree from the Temple Gardens
If you approach from the Cenarion Enclave side instead, you reach the same island from the opposite bridge, so the bank sits between the two areas rather than inside either one.
Where the Darnassus guild vault sits
There is no separate guild bank building in Darnassus. The guild vault shares the bank’s location, mounted on the side of the tree, and you will find one on the left or the right as you move around the trunk. Click the vault object rather than a banker NPC to open guild storage.
The object is visible even if your guild has never bought a tab. In that case it still opens, but shows an empty vault with a purchase prompt instead of item slots.
Confirming you found the right NPC
Inside the tree, bankers stand beside piles of gold, with Banker Gariyeth among them. Speaking to one opens your personal bank storage interface. If you target a banker from outside the tree, you get an out-of-range message instead, which is a useful sign that you are circling the correct structure but have not stepped in yet.
Guild bank tab costs and unlock requirements
The vault outside the Darnassus bank uses the same shared guild storage as every other city, so whatever your guild has purchased elsewhere is already available here. Each tab holds 98 item slots and does not need bags.

All eight tabs add up to 39,350g and 784 slots. The vault also stores money, supports per-rank withdrawal limits set by the guild master, and keeps an in-game log of the 25 most recent deposits and withdrawals for each tab.
Once you have the island memorized, Darnassus becomes a quick stop: bank and guild vault share the same tree, and the Auction House sits one bridge away on the Tradesmen’s Terrace.
