World of Warcraft: How to Complete the Report to Sen’jin Village Quest

Report to Sen’jin Village is the breadcrumb quest that pushes a fresh Horde character out of the Valley of Trials and into Durotar proper. It has no combat and no collectibles. You accept it, run a short road east, and hand it in to a troll named Master Gadrin.

Quick answer: Head east out of the Valley of Trials, take the right (southeast) fork in Durotar toward the coast, enter Sen’jin Village, and speak with Master Gadrin near 55,74 to turn it in.

Where to get the Report to Sen’jin Village quest

In Durotar, Zureetha Fargaze gives this quest in the Valley of Trials, the common starting area for orcs and trolls. It concludes her Burning Blade chain and becomes available after Vile Familiars and Burning Blade Medallion are complete. Return the medallion to her, and she will send you to the troll settlement of Sen’jin to deliver news of the Burning Blade to Master Gadrin.

On modern retail servers the quest auto-accepts and completes the Valley of Trials storyline. In Classic it is a level 5 side quest that requires level 1. Either way, the destination and the person you talk to do not change.

Route from the Valley of Trials to Sen’jin Village

Open your world map to orient yourself. The Valley of Trials sits in western Durotar, and a single dirt canyon road leads out to the east. Follow that main path northeast toward the canyon exit.

Run through the fortified wooden gate at the end of the canyon. Crossing it exits the starting zone and triggers the Discovered: Durotar banner once you emerge into the open desert.

At the crossroads outside the valley, take the right-hand path that loops south toward the coast. The road slopes downhill past cacti and palm trees. Ignore the northern fork, which heads to Razor Hill.

Keep following the coastline until you reach the huts of Sen’jin Village. Entering the settlement fires the Discovered: Sen’jin Village banner and grants 55 exploration experience.

Optional: Pick up A Peon’s Burden from Ukor

Along the road, just past the crossroads to the east, stands an NPC named Ukor beside a wooden watch post. He offers a short side quest called A Peon’s Burden, in which he asks you to recover a scattered box of supplies. Grabbing it is optional and does not affect the main turn-in, but it fits neatly into the same trip.

If your quest log is cluttered with leftover Valley of Trials tasks such as Lazy Peons, you can right-click the entry and choose Abandon before moving on. Dropping unneeded quests keeps your tracker focused on the route.

Turn in the quest to Master Gadrin

Around 55,74, Master Gadrin is positioned beneath a canopy in Sen’jin Village, next to Master Vornal. The yellow question mark identifies him. Talk to him, review his response concerning the Burning Blade, then choose Complete Quest.

His dialogue notes that the Burning Blade is not present in Sen’jin, but that their evil has taken root off the coast on the Echo Isles. That line sets up the next chain of quests he and the other villagers offer once the report is complete.

The payout differs depending on which client you are playing. There is no gear reward; the value is in experience and faction reputation.

For a brand-new character, the combined quest and exploration experience is usually enough to reach the next level shortly after turning in. On some clients the completion also awards a small amount of copper.

How to confirm the quest is done

You know it worked when the quest window closes with a “Report to Sen’jin Village completed” message, your experience bar ticks up, and the reputation increase for the Darkspear Trolls or Orgrimmar appears in your chat log. The quest also drops out of your tracker, and Master Gadrin and nearby villagers now display fresh quest markers for the next set of tasks in Durotar.
