World of Warcraft: Undercity Paladin Trainer Location

Undercity is a Forsaken city, and the Forsaken cannot be paladins — so the class trainer that serves Blood Elf paladins sits well off the main trade ring, in the chamber where Sylvanas Windrunner holds court. That placement is why guards point you one way and the trainer never appears on your minimap until you are almost on top of her.

Quick answer: Champion Cyssa Dawnrose stands in the Royal Quarter at 58.0, 90.5, to the left of the central dais when you face Sylvanas. Reach it through the Apothecarium’s long guarded corridor.

Cyssa Dawnrose is the trainer most players are sent to, and she is the one tied to the Blood Elf presence in the city. Garen Largo appears in the War Quarter instead, sharing the raised circular platform with warrior trainer Christoph Walker. Check the Royal Quarter first; if the platform in the War Quarter is where your version puts him, the second route below gets you there.

Route to Champion Cyssa Dawnrose in the Royal Quarter

Start in the Trade Quarter, the central hub ringed by the four outer quarters. Take one of the ramps down out of the hub and into the canals that run beneath the city.

Follow the canal hallway toward the southwestern side of the city until you emerge in the Apothecarium. You will be running on the raised walkways that cross the green slime pools.

At the middle of the Apothecarium’s outer ring, look for the long tunnel signposted Royal Quarter. It is guarded on both sides by level 60 Royal Dreadguards, which is the clearest sign you have the right passage.

Run the corridor to the end and climb the steps into the throne chamber. Facing Sylvanas on the central dais, Cyssa Dawnrose is on the left, standing beside the Blood Elf ambassador.

Cyssa is the only class trainer in this chamber, so anything else you target here is a guard, a courtier or the ambassador.

Route to Garen Largo in the War Quarter

Open your map inside Undercity and locate the War Quarter on the outer ring. Your target is the outermost part of that quarter, past the green river that cuts across it.

Cross the stone bridge over the glowing green river and keep moving toward the outer edge of the quarter, where a ramp curves upward.

Run up the curved walkway to the rear entrance of the War Quarter’s central building and step inside the chamber at the top.

On the raised circular platform inside, you will find Christoph Walker <Warrior Trainer> and Garen Largo <Paladin Trainer> standing together. Talk to Largo to train.

How to confirm you have the right NPC

Target the NPC and check the title under the name. A valid trainer reads <Paladin Trainer>, and clicking them opens the training window listing new abilities and higher ranks for your level. If the window does not open, you have targeted a guard or an ambassador rather than the trainer.

Cyssa also gives herself away in conversation, dismissing anyone who lingers:

Leave me, rogue. Though tedious, my duties alongside Ambassador Sunsorrow still require my attention.

If no paladin trainer is in Undercity

Champion Cyssa Dawnrose was not part of the city at the start of The Burning Crusade — she was added in patch 2.2.0, released in September 2007. In TBC Classic she disappeared from the Royal Quarter during a phase 2 patch while guards still directed players to her spot, so an empty dais is a known state rather than a navigation mistake.

When the chamber is empty, the nearest Horde alternatives are:

Champion Bachi, Ithelis and Osselan in Silvermoon City, Farstriders’ Square, around 91–92, 37–38

One last thing worth knowing before you plan a trip: class trainers exist only in Azeroth. Shattrath did not get them until Cataclysm, so an Undercity or Silvermoon stop is the training run you make between Outland sessions.
