Where to pick up the quest, which Al’Aketh enemies drop Bloody Heirlooms, and how to hit 10/10 fast.

Unwanted and Unworthy is one of the new low-level quests woven into World of Warcraft: Forever’s expanded leveling path, and it is a straightforward kill-and-loot job with one wrinkle: some of the enemies you need are sitting underwater.

Quick answer: Take the quest from Elegael Thornpaw in Shadowglen Forest, kill Al’Aketh Footsoldiers and Al’Aketh Stormchasers around Windsong Lake until you loot 10 Bloody Heirlooms, then return to him.

Everything happens within a short run of the quest hub, so there is no flight path or long travel leg to plan around. The whole loop takes a few minutes once you know which mobs to hit.

Pick up the quest from Elegael Thornpaw in Shadowglen Forest

Elegael Thornpaw stands in Shadowglen Forest and carries the quest marker above his head. Open your map first to orient yourself, then walk up, talk to him, and accept Unwanted and Unworthy. The quest text points you toward the Al’Aketh presence nearby.

Farm 10 Bloody Heirlooms at Windsong Lake

Bloody Heirlooms drop from two enemy types, and both count toward the same 10/10 tally. Mixing them is usually faster than committing to one group, because the spawns are spread across the shoreline and the water itself.

  • Al’Aketh Footsoldiers — patrol the ground around Windsong Lake.
  • Al’Aketh Stormchasers — found underwater and on the terrain surrounding the lake.
Head to Windsong Lake, which is marked on your map once the quest is in your log. Start with the Al’Aketh Footsoldiers along the edges of the water, since they are the easiest to pull one at a time.

Loot every corpse. Bloody Heirlooms are not a guaranteed drop from each kill, so your counter will climb unevenly and you will need more kills than 10 to finish.

Move on to the Al’Aketh Stormchasers. Several of them sit below the surface of the lake, so you will be fighting and looting underwater for part of this. Keep an eye on your breath bar and surface between pulls.

Clear the Stormchasers on dry land around the lake edge before diving. It saves you from swimming back up mid-fight and lets you loot without a timer running.

Keep cycling between the two enemy types until the objective tracker reads Bloody Heirlooms 10/10. At that point the objective turns complete in your quest log and no further kills are needed.

Turn in the quest and confirm it completed

Run back to Shadowglen Forest and speak to Elegael Thornpaw again. His icon changes to a question mark once the objective is filled, which is your signal that the turn-in is available.

Open the dialogue and press Complete Quest. You will know it worked when the quest drops out of your tracker entirely and the Bloody Heirlooms are removed from your bags.

Where this quest fits in WoW Forever

Forever adds more than 1,000 new quests across the level 1–60 journey, with fresh content starting to appear from around level 5 in both the new regions and older zones. Unwanted and Unworthy is one of those early additions, which is why it will look unfamiliar even to players who have run the original leveling path many times.

November 4, 2026 marks the release of World of Warcraft: Forever. Before then, the quest is available exclusively on beta realms, which operate from September 17 through October 21, 2026; you can still opt in for beta access through Blizzard’s Forever page.

Beta progress does not carry over. Anything you complete now, including this quest, is wiped before launch.

If you are clearing the zone anyway, grab the neighboring quests from the same hub before heading to Windsong Lake. The Al’Aketh camps overlap with several other objectives in the area, and batching them keeps you from walking the same stretch of shoreline twice.
