Wuthering Waves version 3.3, titled Reverbs From the End of Galaxies, opens its preload window ahead of the patch going live, and the download footprint is noticeably smaller than recent updates on mobile. PC players pull a 29GB package, while Android and iOS each download 19GB. The catch is the free space the client demands during the merge step, which is well above the raw download number.

Preload download sizes by platform
The preload patch itself is a fixed size on each platform. The "required storage" figure is larger because the game needs working room to merge new resources with the existing install during maintenance. Once the merge finishes, that extra space is released automatically.
| Platform | Preload download | Free space required | Merge overhead |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC | 29GB | 42GB | 13GB |
| Android | 19GB | 30GB | 11GB |
| iOS | 19GB | 30GB | 11GB |
If your device falls short of the free-space minimum, the preload will not start. Clearing space before the window opens is the simplest fix. PS5 players are not given a fixed figure and should make sure the system has enough free storage to complete the patch.
Fresh install sizes
Players installing Wuthering Waves for the first time on 3.3, or reinstalling to reduce a bloated existing install, face a much larger requirement than the patch alone. The mobile fresh-install footprint has come down compared to earlier versions, but PC and Mac still need substantial room.
| Platform | Fresh install storage |
|---|---|
| Android | 45GB |
| iOS | 45GB |
| PC | 130GB (SSD recommended) |
| Mac | 130GB |
On mobile, the launcher splits the download into Basic Resources (around 27.2GB) needed to boot the game, and Full Resources (around 43.66GB), which streams the rest in the background. Picking Basic Resources lets you start playing sooner if storage is tight.

Preload and update timing
The preload window opens on April 28, 2026, at 10:00 UTC+8 and runs through April 29. Version 3.3 itself unlocks on April 30, 2026, at 12:00 UTC+8 once maintenance ends. Preloading is optional, but it reduces patch-day download time to just the merge process.
Why the required free space is larger than the download
During the maintenance window, the client unpacks the preloaded archive and merges it with your existing game files. That process needs scratch space equal to roughly half the download on top of the package itself. PC needs 13GB of merge overhead; Android and iOS each need 11GB. Once 3.3 finishes installing, the temporary files are deleted, and your install size returns to a normal level.
If your device is right at the edge of the free-space requirement, the safer route is to uninstall and reinstall fresh after 3.3 goes live. Mobile fresh installs in particular have shrunk compared to previous patches, and a clean install avoids the inflated working space the merge demands.

Device specs for Wuthering Waves 3.3
The supported hardware list has not changed for 3.3. Minimum specs will run the game; recommended specs are what the developer points to for a smooth experience at higher settings.
| Platform | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Android 7.0+, Snapdragon 835 or MediaTek G71/72, 4GB RAM | Android 7.0+, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+/2/3 or equivalent, 6GB RAM |
| iOS | iOS 14+, iPhone 11 or A13 iPad, 4GB RAM | iOS 15+, iPhone 13 or A15 iPad, 6GB RAM |
| Mac | macOS 12.0+, M1 or newer, 16GB RAM | macOS 15.0+, M3 or newer, 16GB RAM |
| PC | Windows 10 64-bit, i5 9th gen / Ryzen 2700, GTX 1060 / RX 570 / Arc A380, 16GB RAM | Windows 10 64-bit, i7 9th gen / Ryzen 3700, RTX 2060 / RX 5700 XT / Arc A750, 16GB RAM |
Installing on an SSD is the developer's standing recommendation on PC and Mac. The streaming asset system is sensitive to disk speed, and HDD installs tend to produce longer load times and texture pop-in during open-world traversal.
Verifying the preload completed
The launcher shows a "Pre-download complete" status once the package finishes pulling down. On mobile, the game's storage footprint will increase by roughly the preload size during the window, then drop back after maintenance once the merge releases the temporary files. If the launcher still shows a download prompt when 3.3 goes live, your client did not finish the preload and will need to pull the patch normally before you can log in.
