Hsin, the Heart Moon Fox and Sentinel of Mengzhou, arrives in Wuthering Waves Version 3.7 as a 5-star Electro Resonator built around a two-form combat cycle. She is the first Sentinel to become playable, and her kit reflects that: she fights as a fox in her base stance, then transforms into a towering Sentinel that pulls the architecture of Xuanfang Hold onto the battlefield.

Quick answer: Hsin is a 5-star Electro Rectifier who rotates between Answering Form and Illumining Form. Build Answering Heart, spend it with an Enhanced Heavy Attack to trigger Formshift, then close the loop with Pillars Across Heaven.

Her Forte, Fractal Proliferation, is what ties the two stances together. Most of her damage is tagged as Resonance Skill DMG, so her build and her rotation both point in the same direction rather than splitting between Basic Attack and Liberation scaling.

How Hsin’s combat loop works

Hsin’s rotation is a closed circuit. She starts in one form, fills a gauge, spends it to switch, fills a second gauge, spends that to fire her finisher, and lands back where she started. Nothing in the loop is optional, so learning the two gauges is learning the character.

Answering Form and the Answering Heart gauge

She begins in Answering Form. A Basic Attack breaks her Rectifier into nine spinning rings, with every successful hit restoring Answering Heart. Her Resonance Skill launches all nine rings around the target as she moves between them, finishing with a short change into a small fox for the final blow.

Once Answering Heart is full, an Enhanced Heavy Attack spends it and pushes the rotation forward. You can tell it landed because her Forte Gauge converts into a Xuanfang core, which is the visual cue that Formshift is available.

Formshift into Illumining Form

Her Resonance Liberation absorbs the Xuanfang core and shifts her into Illumining Form, her Sentinel body: white and gold robes, long pale hair, glowing yellow eyes. Her moveset changes completely here. Instead of ringed melee flurries, she commands a shifting mechanism that strikes from range, and her hits now build Illumining Heart rather than Answering Heart.

When Illumining Heart overflows, she can call Xuanfang buildings up out of the ground to slam into enemies. This stretch is her main burst window, so cooldowns and buffs from teammates are best spent while she is in this form.

Pillars Across Heaven closes the cycle

After Illumining Heart reaches the required amount, a second Enhanced Heavy Attack unlocks Pillars Across Heaven, her finisher. It deals Electro DMG, and it returns her to Answering Form so the loop can begin again. The enhanced version of her Liberation redraws the arena as the blueprints of Xuanfang Hold, then collapses those structures onto whatever is standing in them.

Treat Enhanced Heavy Attacks as resource dumps, not damage buttons. Their job is to burn a full gauge and advance the form cycle.

Edict and off-field damage: Hsin as a sub-DPS

Formshift also grants Hsin Edict. While Edict is active, damage dealt by your other characters can trigger her Coordinated Attacks, so she keeps contributing after you swap away. That is the single detail that stops her from being a pure on-field carry.

The combat footage makes the same point visually. Right after her Liberation, Hsin leaves behind a golden field that stays on the battlefield and periodically calls down swords on enemies, continuing to tick while a teammate is in control. Her rotation is therefore not “stay in, dump everything, leave” but a cycle of burst windows with paid-off downtime in between.

Unison and Electro Flare: Hsin’s two Resonance Modes

Hsin has two Resonance Modes, and they lead to two different teams rather than two different builds. You pick one and shape the rotation around it.

ModeWhat it doesTeam direction
UnisonSeamless teammate entry and faster swapsHsin, Suoming, Shorekeeper
Electro FlareStacks Electro damage, then detonates itHsin, Electro Rover, Buling

Unison is the fuller expression of the kit, since it leans on Intro Skill interactions and rapid swaps between Hsin and her partner. Suoming is the core teammate there, with Shorekeeper filling the third slot for healing and CRIT support without breaking the rhythm between the two.

Electro Flare is the cheaper route. It stacks Electro damage and blows the stacks up, and it does not require any specific 3.7 partner, which makes it a practical stopgap if you pull Hsin before her Unison partner is available. Testing adjustments have trimmed Electro Flare’s detonation values while making its application and stack upkeep more consistent, so the mode trades some burst for a steadier rotation.

Kit values are still moving during testing. Treat exact multipliers as provisional until the version goes live.

What the official gameplay preview showed

Kuro Games released an early combat preview of both new Resonators from a test build, running with English voice acting while other dubs were still in progress. It opens on the two 3D models, then goes straight into team play instead of showing each character’s animations separately.

In the footage, Suoming takes the field first, chaining umbrella sword and chain attacks to charge her Concerto Gauge before swapping to Hsin so the pair can fire their Outro and Intro Skills back to back. Hsin then fills her Resonance Gauge with Basic Attacks and Resonance Skills, triggers her Liberation, leaves the golden sword field behind, and swaps out. The sequence brings her back in for area-of-effect attacks and a second, larger Liberation to finish off the Tacet Discords.

Hsin ascension and skill upgrade materials to pre-farm

CategoryMaterials
Resonator AscensionHer Resonator ascension requires three materials: Solidarity’s Loneflame; the other two are Bloom of Attunement and Autosuppet Kernel.
Skill UpgradeSpliced String, Autosuppet Kernel, Remnant of the Wheel

Autosuppet Kernel appears on both lists, so it is the material worth stockpiling first. Because her damage is concentrated in Resonance Skill DMG, her Forte and Resonance Skill levels matter more than raising everything evenly.

When Hsin arrives in Wuthering Waves 3.7

Hsin and Suoming are both set to debut in Version 3.7. Official drip marketing confirmed them at the end of August: Hsin uses an Electro Rectifier, while Suoming uses an Electro sword, founded the Ten Seals Covenant, and serves as Intendant of the Ministry of Sentinel Affairs. Version 3.6 continues until September 30, 2026, and Kuro Games has yet to announce 3.7’s exact launch date or banner lineup.

Because the preview footage comes from a test build, individual numbers and animations can still shift before release. The shape of the character, though, is already clear: a Resonance Skill damage dealer who flips between fox and Sentinel, pays out damage while off-field through Edict, and asks you to choose early between a Unison team and an Electro Flare one.
