Zero's Companion Event Guide for Neverness to Everness (May 2026)

Zero's Companion Event Guide for Neverness to Everness (May 2026)

Zero's Companion is a limited two-week side event in Neverness to Everness that lets you bond a chosen Appraiser to Zero, complete tailored quests, and climb a Companion Level track for milestone rewards. It opened with the May 13 maintenance and closes on May 27, 2026, at 04:59 (UTC+8), so it overlaps with the Hotori banner and ends just before the Whisker Patrol combat event begins.

Quick answer: Open the event page, lock in one companion for the full run, then complete Daily Quests (reset 05:00 server time) and one-time Companion Quests to earn Companion Points, raise your Companion Level, and claim each milestone from Zero's Companion › Target Reward.

Event window and access requirements

The event is gated to active 1.0 accounts that have progressed past the early tutorial blocks and unlocked the Events menu. There is no banner purchase or paid pass tied to it; participation is free once the patch is installed.

How Companion Points and Companion Level work

Companion Point is the event currency. It is a C-Rank consumable with the description "Obtained by completing the Zero's Companion event quests. Used to increase the Companion Level." Every time you finish a Daily Quest or a Companion Quest, the point payout is automatically routed into your Companion Level bar. Hitting a level threshold unlocks the next tier of milestone rewards on the Target Reward page.

Rewards do not auto-claim. You have to open the Target Reward tab and tap each unlocked tier before the event closes, or those rewards expire with the event.

Quest types and where to find them

Two quest categories feed the same point pool.

Quest typeRefreshWhat it asks
Daily Quest05:00 server timeRoutine actions performed alongside your chosen companion, such as turning in lost items at a Security Office or completing co-op style activities with that character in your team.
Companion QuestOne-timeBespoke story or interaction beats tied to the specific Appraiser you locked in. These do not reset, so missing one means losing those points permanently.

One recurring daily objective involves using your locked companion character to hand in lost items at a Security Office three times. Because daily quests refresh at 05:00 server time, log in once per day inside the window to avoid stacking missed days you can never recover.

Milestone rewards

The Target Reward track pays out a mix of premium currency, cosmetic-adjacent items, and progression materials. Exact quantities per tier are listed on the in-game Target Reward page; the full reward pool across the event is fixed.

Total Annulith from the full Companion Level track is in the 400 range across milestones, on top of the 300 Annulith maintenance compensation already mailed for the May 13 downtime.

Choosing the right companion

Because the choice is locked, prioritize a character you actively want to play with rather than one optimized for combat. The event quests favor presence in your team during specific actions, not raw damage. Sakiri, Adler, and Haniya are common picks for players who already field them as flex supports, while protagonist-leaning players often pair with a story-relevant Appraiser they have not yet hung out with.

Tip: If you plan to pull on the Hotori banner during the same window, locking Hotori as your companion after you obtain her lets you double-dip on her hangout-style interactions and the event point gain.

How to confirm progress is registering

After finishing a qualifying action, the Daily Quest or Companion Quest entry flips to a "Claim" state on the event page. Tapping it adds Companion Points to the level bar, which animates upward and surfaces a "Level up" prompt when a milestone unlocks. If the bar does not move after you tap claim, leave the event menu and re-enter; the level state refreshes on page load.

If a quest does not register completion, the usual causes are using a different character than your locked companion for the required action, doing the action in multiplayer where credit went to another player, or attempting it before the daily reset has actually rolled at 05:00 server time.

Planning the remaining days

With the event running through May 27 at 04:59 (UTC+8), there are roughly two weeks of daily quest cycles available. Treat the one-time Companion Quests as the priority on day one, since they cannot be recovered later, and let the daily turn-ins fill the rest of the level bar over the remaining logins. Aim to clear the final milestone a day or two before the deadline so you have buffer to claim each tier from the Target Reward page before the event vanishes from the menu.
