The Snow Biome in 99 Nights in the Forest is no longer just a cold corner of the map. The Biome Refresher, also called the Snow Refresh Update, went live on August 22, 2026, and rebuilds that area around three badges, a feather nest, a freeze-slowing bell, and an upgraded boost pad.
Quick answer: Finish Nestbuilding, Aerodynamics, and Bellringing to unlock the Polar Bearskin Rug. Nestbuilding comes from the Owl’s Nest, Aerodynamics from the Ice Temple tablet, and Bellringing from the Bell Tower.
Snow Biome Map Unlock and Warm Clothing
Raise the campfire to Level 3 first. That rank expands the map and is the gate that lets the snow side of the forest appear. Any class can do the new work, including Assassin.

Day 1 is still the setup day. Fuel the fire, open the map, and confirm the white snow region before you commit to a long hike. The freeze meter starts as soon as you cross that line, and the game will stop your sprint if you get too cold.

The warm clothing cabin is the stop that makes the rest of the loop possible. Craft Earmuffs, a Beanie, a Polar Bear Hat, or an Arctic Fox Hat there before you farm feathers or climb the tower.
| Warm item | Crafted at |
|---|---|
| Earmuffs | Warm clothing cabin |
| Beanie | Warm clothing cabin |
| Polar Bear Hat | Warm clothing cabin |
| Arctic Fox Hat | Warm clothing cabin |
Camp remains the hub while you work the snow objectives. The Missing Persons board still updates when you bring a child back, including Squid kid.

Add to Google Preferences →Nestbuilding Badge and Ice Bow
Nestbuilding is the feather job. Juggernaut Cultists and Snowmen drop feathers, and chests can hold them too. Carry those feathers to the giant Owl’s Nest and turn them in.
Five feathers in the nest complete Nestbuilding and pay out a Forest Gem Fragment. Keep feeding the nest after that. Later turn-ins also give Cultist Gems and unlock the Ice Bow.
| Feather source | What it feeds |
|---|---|
| Juggernaut Cultists | Owl’s Nest turn-ins |
| Snowmen | Owl’s Nest turn-ins |
| Chests | Owl’s Nest turn-ins |
The Ice Bow is the nest’s big weapon reward. It has infinite ammunition and an icy slowing effect on whatever it hits. In the snow it can drop animals in a single shot, which makes pelt trips much shorter once the bow is in your hands.

You know Nestbuilding landed when the badge unlocks and the nest hands over its first reward. You know the Ice Bow unlocked when it appears as an Owl’s Nest reward after more feather turn-ins.
Aerodynamics Badge and Winged Boost Pad
Aerodynamics is the Ice Temple job. Go into the temple and take the Boost Pad Recipe Tablet. Using that tablet is the badge trigger, not simply walking into the room.
The same temple also holds one Forest Gem Fragment. Icy interiors still hide loot behind frozen cover, and a downed teammate can be brought back at the yellow Revive marker if a run goes bad in those caves.

Craft the Winged Boost Pad from the tablet. It is the upgraded boost pad, and it leaves a passive wind effect on you after you use it. That is the movement piece of the refresh, and it pairs cleanly with the slower freeze from the tower.

Aerodynamics is done when the tablet has been used and the badge unlocks. The pad is ready when you can place the Winged Boost Pad and feel the wind effect after stepping on it.
Bellringing Badge and Freeze Meter
Bellringing is the tower job. Climb the Bell Tower in the Snow Biome and ring the bell at the top. That single action both completes the badge and slows the Snow Biome freeze meter.
The slow is the reason to ring it early on a long snow day. Warm hats still matter, but the bell is the new map-wide brake on how fast the cold fills. Cultists can show up on the climb, so clear the tower before you treat it as a safe landmark.
Bellringing is done when the badge unlocks after the bell is rung. The freeze change is working when the Snow Biome cold meter fills more slowly than it did before the ring.
Polar Bearskin Rug Completion Check
The furniture reward is locked behind the full set. Nestbuilding, Aerodynamics, and Bellringing all have to be complete before the Polar Bearskin Rug is available.
| Badge | What completes it |
|---|---|
| Nestbuilding | Earn a reward from the Owl’s Nest |
| Aerodynamics | Use the Boost Pad Recipe Tablet from the Ice Temple |
| Bellringing | Ring the Snow Biome Bell Tower bell |
The rug is the check that the whole refresh is finished. If one badge is still open, the furniture stays locked. If a nest turn-in gives nothing, you do not have enough feathers yet. If Aerodynamics will not fire, the Ice Temple tablet has not been used. If the freeze rate never changes, the bell has not been rung.
Once the three badges are done, the Polar Bearskin Rug is the furniture payoff, and the Ice Bow, Winged Boost Pad, and slower freeze stay in the Snow Biome as the lasting tools from the refresh.
