Sephiria: How to Unlock Every Costume and What Each One Does

A full breakdown of every costume, the exact condition that unlocks it, and the stat buffs and trade-offs it brings to a run.

A full breakdown of every costume, the exact condition that unlocks it, and the stat buffs and trade-offs it brings to a run.

Costumes in Sephiria are more than a new look for your rabbit warrior. Each one swaps in a fixed set of passive stats, and most pair a clear upside with a matching penalty, so picking a costume is really about locking in a playstyle before you climb the tower. Some are yours from the first run, while others only appear after you hit a specific target in combat or clear a certain challenge.

Quick answer: Every costume unlocks by meeting one condition, either a stat threshold during a run (for example, fire damage of 50 for the Red-Clothed Cat), a boss or enemy feat (beat Rataka five times for the White Wolf), or a run collection goal (gather 10 Tablets for the Red Fox). Once unlocked, equip it from the wardrobe to apply its buffs and trade-offs.

How costumes work in Sephiria

You equip costumes from the hub before a run, and the stat changes stay active for the whole climb. Several costumes also hand you a free starting item, usually a spell grimoire, which shapes how you open a run. Because most costumes give and take at the same time, the “best” one depends entirely on your build. A defensive shell like the Armored Bunny suits a tanky style, while movement-focused options such as the White Wolf reward aggressive dashing.

Note: The Wingless Bat does not show up in the wardrobe list at all until you unlock it, so an empty-looking slot is normal until you meet its condition.

Costumes you have from the start

These are available without any unlock condition, so you can slot them in on your very first run. They cover the basic stat trade-offs you will lean on early.

CostumeEffectStarting item
Pink Bunny+3% experience
Armored Bunny+10 Defence, −15% Max HP
Brown Rabbit+6% Evasion, −6% Crit Chance
Braided Hair Rabbit+7% Attack Speed, +12% Move Speed, −20% Dash Recovery Speed
Orange Rabbit+10 Max HP, −15 Max MP
Red-Hooded Rabbit+8 MP Regeneration, −20 Max MP
White Rabbit+10 Barter, −5% Evasion
Wing-Eared RabbitBuffs allies within 5 tiles, +50% spell cost, −30% ally revive time, −10% Total Weapon AttackBlessing (Grimoire)

Costumes unlocked by hitting stat targets

These unlock the moment you push a specific stat to the listed value during a run. You can chase them naturally as your build grows, so shaping your run around one element or crit damage does double duty.

CostumeUnlock conditionEffectStarting item
Red-Clothed CatRaise Fire Damage to 50+5 Fire Damage, −5 Cold DamageFire Bolt (Grimoire)
FrogRaise Lightning Damage to 50+5 Lightning Damage, −5 Fire DamageLightning Bolt (Grimoire)
OtterReach 175% Critical Damage+9 Crit Chance, −10% Move Speed
SkeletonTake 333 damage in one runRevive at 60% HP up to twice, Max HP set to 50

The Skeleton has a useful quirk. Its Max HP is fixed at 50 and ignores every health modifier, up or down. That means items that lower Max HP become pure upside, since they cannot shrink your health any further.

Costumes unlocked by boss kills and combat feats

These need you to defeat particular enemies or rack up a combat count. A few of them heavily rewire how movement and casting feel.

Costumes unlocked by run collection goals

These ask you to gather a set number of items inside a single run. They tend to favor spell-heavy or inventory-hungry builds.

Red FoxCollect 10 Tablets in one run+6 Inventory Slots, −50% Healing

The Dungreed crossover costume

One costume unlocks outside of a run entirely. Owning Dungreed, the earlier title from the same team, grants the Adventurer Bunny. It gives +1 Dash Count and +10% Dash Recovery Speed, but slows cooldown speed by 50%.

Costumes with partial details

A few costumes appear in the wardrobe with known effects, even where the exact unlock steps are not fully confirmed. The Eagle raises your dash count by 2 while slowing dash recovery, and the Forest Cat starts you with +800 Leaf and +10% Move Speed for an early economic and mobility lead. The Turtle and the Fairy of Fortune also exist in the roster.

You will know a costume unlocked when it becomes selectable in the wardrobe and its stat swap applies at the start of your next run. Because Sephiria updates can shift stats and unlock steps, treat older figures as a guide and confirm the numbers against your current version before committing to a build.
