One Piece’s Strongest Void Century Mythical Zoans, Explained

Luffy, Loki, and one hidden character now carry the Void Century's three most powerful Mythical Zoans.

Luffy, Loki, and one hidden character now carry the Void Century’s three most powerful Mythical Zoans.

The Elbaf arc has reshaped how Mythical Zoans sit at the top of the power ladder in One Piece. Three of these Devil Fruits trace back to the Void Century, the erased 100-year window that the World Government protects at all costs, and all three have now resurfaced in the present through named or hinted holders. They belong to gods, and they represent the strongest examples of a class that Eiichiro Oda has described as rarer than the Logia type.

Quick answer: The three strongest Void Century Mythical Zoans are the Sun God Nika (Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika), the God of War Nidhoggr (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr), and the still-unnamed fruit of the Rain God Zaza. Luffy holds Nika, Loki holds Nidhoggr, and Zaza’s user remains unknown.

Why Mythical Zoans sit above other Devil Fruits

Mythical Zoans are a subtype of the Zoan class that let the user transform into a creature of legend rather than a real animal. They were formally introduced in Chapter 554 through Marco the Phoenix, and their rarity was flagged on the spot.

“A class even more rare than the Logia types, the Mythical Zoan Beast type! How scary!” — Kizaru, One Piece Chapter #554

What makes them important in the final stretch of the story is their link to the gods of the setting. Many deities in the world of One Piece exist as myths, and their powers take the form of these fruits. That is why the strongest Mythical Zoans double as god fruits, and why the Elbaf arc has leaned on them so heavily as it heads toward the release of Chapter 1190 on August 9, 2026.

Sun God Nika: Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

Nika was first revealed in the Wano Country arc in Chapter 1044, released on March 28, 2022. The fruit gives the user a body with the properties of rubber and, once awakened, the powers of the Sun God himself, letting the holder fight freely and reshape their surroundings.

“Possessing a body with the powers of rubber, and fighting in whatever way he fancies, bringing smiles to the faces of people, the Warrior of Liberation…also known as the Sun God, Nika!” — Oda, One Piece Chapter #1044

Elbaf expanded the lore around this deity, tying his origin to the land of the Giants. Monkey D. Luffy, the current Nika, reached new levels of power during the arc, which cemented his place among the three strongest Mythical Zoan users in the series. The same fruit was held long ago by Joy Boy during the Void Century.

God of War Nidhoggr: Loki’s Ryu Ryu no Mi

Chapter 1175, released on March 2, 2026, introduced the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr. This fruit turns the user into the largest dragon in the world, with its size scaled to the user’s original body. In the Void Century, it likely belonged to an Elbaf figure named Douzan, famed as the God of War, whose strength let him clash evenly with Nika and even trade blows with Nerona Imu.

“The Mythical Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi…it is said that whoever eats it can transform into the largest dragon in the whole world…They say this dragon breathes lightning, and when it flies, its jet-black wings turn day into night.” — Jarul, One Piece Chapter #1175

That power now belongs to Loki, making him the second confirmed holder of a top-tier Void Century Mythical Zoan. When Loki’s dragon form appeared, Imu recognized it rather than reacting with shock, a sign that the fruit’s history is tied to the villain’s past.

Rain God Zaza: the still-unrevealed fruit

Zaza is the least defined of the three. The Rain God was first mentioned by Saint Killingham in Chapter 1182, released on May 10, 2026, as one of the three things the Celestial Dragons fear most, sitting behind only Nika and the people of D.

“After the people of D and Nika, it was the most common boogeyman they warned us about…that in the lower world, there’s a monster called the Rain God that dumps water on top of your head!” — Killingham, One Piece Chapter #1182

Zaza is said to bring down torrential rain and flood the lower realm, a threat that is especially dangerous to Devil Fruit users because of their weakness to water. Its fruit exists somewhere in the world, but its name, its holder, and whether it has even been eaten all remain unknown. That places it firmly among the strongest Void Century Mythical Zoans despite the mystery.

Why Imu’s Devil Fruit is not counted here

Nerona Imu’s power is easily strong enough to sit at the top, so its absence from the list needs an explanation. The reason is classification. Imu’s power is simply called the Akuma no Mi, or “the Devil’s Fruit,” and it does not follow the standard double-naming pattern that every other Devil Fruit uses.

Nerona Imu Akuma No Mi Surpasses Mythical Zoan Class one piece

Its abilities also blend elements of Logia, Paramecia, and Zoan, so it cannot be slotted cleanly into the Mythical Zoan category. Because the fruit predates and ranks above all others, it stands outside the class entirely. If Oda ever confirms it as a Mythical Zoan, it would immediately become the strongest of all time.

More god fruits still to be revealed

The world holds more of these deities than the three confirmed so far. Chapter 287 named four gods together, the Sun God, the Rain God, the Forest God, and the Earth God, in a village ritual.

“God of the Sun, God of the Rain, God of the Forest, God of the Earth, please take this woman’s blood and save our village from disaster.” — Oda, One Piece Chapter #287

With the Sun God and the Rain God accounted for, two more god fruits, the Forest God and the Earth God, are still out in the world. The Harley also references figures such as the Serpent of Hellfire and the Sea God, any of which could surface as future Mythical Zoans in later arcs.

For now, Nika, Nidhoggr, and Zaza stand as the confirmed peak of the class, and new chapters continue to arrive weekly on Manga Plus and Viz Media.
