Waxwell, sometimes called Maxwell the Candle, is a playable Toon in Dandy’s World shaped like a purple candle with dripping wax for hair, a white wick, and a lit flame. You cannot buy him outright from the store. He stays locked until you clear three separate progression requirements first, then spend Ichor on his license.

Reach 50% Research on Twisted Waxwell
Twisted Waxwell is the corrupted version of Waxwell and can appear on any floor during a run. There is no fixed floor to farm, so you build Research by encountering him naturally across multiple runs.
Complete 3 Mastery Quests on Goob
The second requirement is tied to the Rare Toon Goob, not to Waxwell himself. You need three of Goob’s Mastery Quests finished. Goob’s own license costs 1,750 Ichor, so you will need access to him before you can work on his Mastery.
Save 3,500 Ichor and buy the license
Ichor is the main currency in Dandy’s World, earned by completing objectives during runs. Waxwell’s license costs 3,500 Ichor, so avoid spending your balance on other Toons or trinkets while you work toward him.
You know it worked when Waxwell appears as an owned Toon in your roster and can be selected in the lobby. If the license is still greyed out, one of the three requirements is not fully met yet.
Waxwell’s Ignite ability
Waxwell is a support-focused Toon with a single active ability called Ignite and no second ability. When activated, he lights his flame and removes his own Tired debuff for 10 seconds. While ignited, he leaves a trail behind him as he moves around the floor.
Any Toon who touches that trail gains the Ignited buff, which makes their ability cooldown recover twice as fast for 5 seconds. That helps teammates reuse their skills more often when escaping danger or pushing objectives.

Two limits matter. The Ignited buff does not affect Waxwell himself, and it cannot stack. Because Ignite has a 60-second cooldown and the buff only lasts 5 seconds, time it when teammates are close enough to actually cross the trail.
Once all three requirements are cleared and the license is bought, Waxwell is ready to run. His value comes from that trail, so stay near your squad and fire Ignite when their cooldowns matter most.
