The full launch adds 72 Pals, the Sunreach sky islands, the World Tree, Awakening, Mutation, and a raised level cap.

Palworld’s 1.0 update is the largest change the game has seen, moving it out of Early Access and bringing the total roster to 287 Pals. It adds two major regions in the sky and at the heart of the story, two new ways to strengthen Pals, a higher level cap, and a wide rebalance of habitats, missions, and rewards.

Quick answer: Version 1.0 released July 10, 2026. It adds 72 new Pals (47 new species and 25 variants), the Sunreach sky islands and the World Tree, the Awakening and Mutation systems, and raises the player level cap from 65 to 80.

New areas: Sunreach and the World Tree

Sunreach is a set of islands floating above Palpagos, held aloft by the power of Paldium. It carries its own environment and civilization, and it introduces new Pals, new tower bosses, and ores that can only be mined with specialized equipment. The towers hidden above the clouds are the region’s main challenge.

The World Tree is the center of Palworld’s story. It explains why the factions keep fighting over the towers, and it holds the game’s toughest challenge. It is also where the new Awakening system takes place, since the Radiant Gems used for it are gathered in its depths.

The wider world was reworked as well. The former small islands are now Wildlife Sanctuaries, protected conservation areas with unique scenery, exclusive Pals, rare materials, and powerful bosses. Defense drones patrol them, so you can sneak past searchlights or fight your way in.

72 new Pals in Version 1.0

The 1.0 roster adds 72 Pals in total, split into 47 brand new species and 25 variants of existing ones. Many are found only in Sunreach and around the World Tree, so those two regions are where to look if entries are missing from your Palpedia.

Standout new species include Astralym, the World Tree dragon, and Panthalus, a whale-type Pal. Shaolong is a blue serpentine dragon, Hartalis is a legendary deer that first appeared in the Home Sweet Home update, and the lineup also spans creatures such as Carnibora, Sekhmet, Renjishi, Aegidron, and Eidrolon. The 25 variants apply new elemental typings to familiar Pals, including Tanzee Ignis, Univolt Cryst, Needoll Noct, Moldron Cryst, Skutlass Ignis, and Starryon Primo.

PalTypeNotes
PupperaiGroundIts Best Boy skill raises the player’s melee weapon damage by 10%.
CloveeGrass / NeutralRaises the Gathering suitability of other base Pals by +1.
AmioneWaterRaises the Watering suitability of other base Pals by +1.
Woolipop TerraGroundCan drop Caramel Cotton Candy and lowers base Pal hunger drain by 15%.
Tanzee IgnisFireFires a Fire-element assault rifle at nearby enemies when active.
AstralymThe World Tree dragon and one of the headline new species.

Note: Partner Skills do not stack. Stacking several Pals with the same buff, such as a party built around a single attack bonus, still caps the effect at its listed value.

Awakening: strengthen Pals with Radiant Gems

Awakening is a new way to push a Pal past its normal ceiling. You gather Radiant Gems hidden in the World Tree and apply them to a chosen Pal to unlock its hidden power. Each element has its own gem, covering Water, Electric, Ground, Grass, Fire, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Neutral.

Mutation: rarer, stronger breeding results

Mutation gives breeding a small chance to produce a Pal that is stronger than the usual result. Pals born from mutated eggs have higher stats and a unique passive skill, which makes breeding for a top-tier Pal a longer but more rewarding process. New cakes shape the odds and the output.

CakeEffect
Mushroom CakeSlightly raises the chance that newborn Pals have higher stats.
Vegetable CakeProduces two Pal Eggs at once.
Extravagant Vegetable CakeIncreases mutation chance and stat growth, with a 3% mutated egg rate.
Special CakeIncreases the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills, up to six.

Some mutation-only passives are notably powerful. Immortality, for example, grants +5% life steal, doubles auto health regeneration, and adds +15% attack.

Level cap, habitats, and progression changes

The player level cap rose from 65 to 80, with new ancient-civilization technologies unlocking across those higher levels. Pal habitats were reworked so spawns feel more suited to each region, and spawn placement data from v0.7.3 and earlier no longer carries over in the random spawn mode.

Lifmunk Effigies are now Pal Effigies, and you can collect effigies of different Pals to boost the player’s stats. Effigies you already earned carry over unchanged. Predator Pals no longer sit at fixed spots and instead spawn at a low rate across the whole map; treasure and dungeon rewards were rebalanced, and an auto-run function was added for long-distance travel.

Note: The main story and sub-mission structure was reworked to connect Palpagos, the tower bosses, and the World Tree more naturally. To keep rewards fair after the rebalance, main and sub-mission progress was reset, though some tutorial and tower-boss missions are auto-completed based on your existing tower progress.

Arena, combat, and work suitability

The Arena carries a Legend rank, where wins add points toward your total GP standing. Work Suitability now runs across 10 rebalanced levels, and each time a Pal ranks up one of its suitability levels rises, with the maximum rank increasing all of them. Riding controls, partner skills, and Pal motions were also reworked, giving mounts a stronger sense of speed and Pals more varied idle behavior.

Everything here is live in the current build, and players who bought the game during Early Access get the full release at no extra cost. If your Palpedia still shows gaps after updating, the Sunreach islands and the World Tree are the two regions holding most of the still-unseen Pals.
