In PEAK, every hat, outfit, and unsettling eye mod is a reward for doing something specific on the mountain. There are 64 badges to collect, and each badge you complete drops a matching cosmetic into your wardrobe. Nothing is bought and nothing is random, so a propeller hat or a set of glowing eyes always means that player pulled off a real feat during a climb.
Quick answer: Complete a badge’s in-game task, and the cosmetic unlocks automatically. You can equip it before your next run by pressing 1 at the airport to pull out your Passport, then interacting with it to open the customization menu. Badge progress also appears on your character’s sash and can be checked anytime through the Accolades menu in the pause screen.
How cosmetics unlock and how to know it worked
Each badge is tied to an achievement. The moment you meet its condition, the achievement pops and the linked cosmetic becomes available. For badges that require finishing a run, the reward is confirmed once you escape the island, so you claim the item at the end of the expedition rather than mid-climb.
A few biomes rotate daily. ALPINE swaps with MESA, ROOTS swaps with TROPICS, and CALDERA swaps with GLOOM, so the biome-specific tasks below are only available on the day their biome is active. One badge, Undead Encounter, cannot be earned on the Tenderfoot difficulty. If an achievement fails to register even after a clean attempt, it is usually a temporary tracking issue rather than a mistake in your method.

Add to Google Preferences →Biome clear cosmetics
The most reliable rewards come from simply reaching the campfire past each biome. A handful add a restriction, such as keeping your Heat, Cold, or Spores low, or avoiding every trap. Those conditional clears give you a matching hat and outfit for the same badge.

Full-run escape cosmetics
These reward how you finish an entire expedition. Several are far easier on Tenderfoot, where a careful climb without falls handles the no-damage and no-unconsciousness conditions in a single run.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Balloon ![]() | Balloon | Escape the island without taking any damage. Easiest on Tenderfoot as long as you never fall. |
Scoutmaster Outfit ![]() | Survivalist | Escape without ever losing consciousness, from any ailment, not just injuries. |
Castaway ![]() | Participation | Be dead when a friend reaches The Peak and escapes without you. |

Aggro Eyes ![]() | Gourmand | Cook and eat a Half-Coconut (SHORE), Honeycomb (ROOTS/TROPICS), Yellow Winterberry (ALPINE), and an Egg (CALDERA), then escape. |
Aggro Mouth ![]() | Gourmand | Same run as above unlocks the matching mouth. |
Healing, reviving, and rescue cosmetics
Support play earns some of the most distinct looks in the game. Most of these are far easier in co-op, where you have friends to heal, drag, and bring back from the dead.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Sailor Outfit ![]() | Emergency Preparedness | Heal an unconscious friend and prevent their death using an item like Bandages or a First Aid Kit. |
Sailor Hat ![]() | Clutch | Revive 3 scouts in a single expedition using the Ancient Statue by the campfire. |
Medic Helmet ![]() | First Aid | Heal friends for 100 points of Injury in one expedition. |
Climber ![]() | Disaster Response | Pull an unconscious friend 30m with the Rescue Claw from Luggage. |
Climbing Helmet ![]() | Disaster Response | Same Rescue Claw drag unlocks the helmet. |
Skeleton Onesie ![]() | Applied Esoterica | Get the Book of Bones from an Ancient Statue or Ancient Luggage, then read it over a friend’s pile of bones to revive them. |
Third Eye ![]() | Calcium Intake | Block 100 total damage with Fortified Milk. Drink it, then leap off a cliff to absorb the fall. |
| Vamp | Toxicology | Restore 200 total Poison using Antidotes, Cure-Alls, First Aid Kits, and Medicinal Roots across any runs. |
Pumpkin ![]() | Undead Encounter | Cure a Zombie bite in ROOTS with a Mandrake or Medicinal Root. Cannot be earned on Tenderfoot. |
Eating, cooking, and foraging cosmetics
Food-based badges are some of the friendliest for new players, and a few carry over between runs so you can chip away at them slowly. Feeding items to others can count toward your own berry and shroomberry totals.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Cookie ![]() | Happy Camper | Receive 5 Morale Boosts from campfires by interacting with them at the end of each biome. |
Chef Hat ![]() | Cooking | Cook 20 meals at campfires, across as many runs as you need. |
Mushroom Hat ![]() | Mycology | Eat four different non-toxic mushrooms in a single expedition. |
Antlers ![]() | Advanced Mycology | Eat 5 types of Shroomberry found in the ROOTS biome. |
| Wacky Mouth | Foraging | Eat 5 different berries in one expedition. All Shroomberry and Crispberry variants count. |
Sprout ![]() | Cryptogastronomy | Cook and eat a Mandrake, found on the ground in ROOTS. |
Drink Hat ![]() | Competitive Eating | Eat 3 Hot Dogs in 5 seconds or less. Carry them from campfires if playing solo. |
Labu Mouth ![]() | Resourcefulness | Eat a friend once your Hunger is 70% or higher. |
Climbing and item feat cosmetics
These reward movement tricks and heavy use of Luggage tools. The High Altitude, Bouldering, and rope-based badges tally across multiple expeditions, so steady play gets you there even without a perfect run.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Ninja Headband ![]() | Endurance | Climb 50m straight up without touching the ground. Vines are fine, Pitons and climbing tools are not. |
Bandana ![]() | High Altitude | Climb 5,000 meters total across any number of runs. |
Anime Eyes ![]() | Bouldering | Place 10 Pitons, which can be done across multiple expeditions. |
Bow ![]() | Knot Tying | Place 100m of rope in one expedition. Rope Spools hold 12.5m and Rope Cannons hold 7.5m, so carry plenty. |
Cargo ![]() | Hang Gliding | Fly 100m with the Glider from Luggage without touching the ground. |
Astronaut ![]() | Aeronautics | Gather 6 total Balloons (or 2 Balloon Bunches) from Luggage and Clown Luggage, then equip them all at once to fly. |
Astronaut Helmet ![]() | Aeronautics | Same balloon flight unlocks the helmet. |
Fairy ![]() | Mycoacrobatics | Bounce up 40m off a mushroom. Drop onto one from something tall for extra height. |
Fairy Hat ![]() | Mycoacrobatics | Same mushroom bounce unlocks the hat. |
Real Eyes ![]() | Arborist | Reach the top of one of the very tall trees in TROPICS or ROOTS. |
| Eyepatch | Plunderer | Open 15 Luggage in a single expedition. |
Stunt Helmet ![]() | Daredevil | Shoot across the MESA canyon in a Scout Cannon from Luggage. |
Visor ![]() | Ultimate | Catch a Flying Disc thrown from 100m away. Use a campfire prompt to measure the exact distance. |
Jester ![]() | Jester | Open 3 Clown Luggage in a single expedition. |
Jester Cap ![]() | Jester | Same three Clown Luggage unlocks the cap. |
Tip: For the Ultimate badge, spread two players slightly beyond 100m in open, high ground. Lighting a campfire while a teammate is out of range shows the precise distance between you, which is the cleanest way to line up the throw.
Biome hazard and secret cosmetics
Deeper biomes hide their own creatures, traps, and set pieces. Each of these badges asks you to survive or interact with something specific, from spider webs and ghosts to the Golden Bing Bong idol.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Gothic ![]() | Exorcist | Burn the Big Ghost in GLOOM by chasing it with a Candlestick or lighting the Belltowers. |
Frog Hat ![]() | Bellringer | Ring 5 Belltowers in GLOOM in a single expedition. |
Sleepy Guy ![]() | Well Rested | Eat the Early Worm, found on the ground in GLOOM. |
Sleepy Guy Hat ![]() | Well Rested | Same Early Worm unlocks the hat. |
Mummy ![]() | Web Security | Escape a Spider’s web in the ROOTS biome. |
Mummy Mask ![]() | Web Security | Same web escape unlocks the mask. |
Sun Hat ![]() | Needlepoint | Have 5 Cacti stick to you at once in MESA, then remove them. |
Scar 2 ![]() | Megaentomology | Get hit by the Antlion and escape. It spawns in MESA near the large hole with trapped Luggage below. |
Arrow Hat ![]() | Archery | Remove 10 arrows from yourself in THE CITADEL by hitting the blue lasers. |
Bing Bong Beanie ![]() | 24 Karat | Take the Ancient Idol (Golden Bing Bong) from the MESA TOMB and throw it into the lava at THE KILN or THE CITADEL. |
Matrix Glasses ![]() | Astronomy | Use the Binoculars from the SHORE crash site to stare at the sun in MESA. |
Crab Hat ![]() | Animal Serenading | Play the Bugle (SHORE crash site) for a Capybara found in MESA or ALPINE. |
Starboy ![]() | Rule Zero | Collect all 4 Scout Amulets, bestow them at THE PEAK for the Strange Gem, then escape the NADIR biome. |
Starboy Hat ![]() | Rule Zero | Same NADIR escape unlocks the hat. |
Mystical and knowledge cosmetics
A small set of rewards revolves around Ancient Statues, Ancient Luggage, and the Scoutmaster’s story. Reading every journal scroll and summoning the Scoutmaster are the standouts here.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Wizard Hat ![]() | Esoterica | Obtain any Mystical Item from an Ancient Statue or Ancient Luggage. |
| Broken Glasses | Bookworm | Read all of Scoutmaster Myres’s journal entries, found as Scrolls at each campfire. |
| Inverted Eyes | Mentorship | Use the Scoutmaster’s Bugle to summon him, then get within 40m. In co-op, being over 160m apart also summons him. |
Co-op only and milestone cosmetics
Two cosmetics require a partner to sacrifice, and two more are pure milestones with no badge attached. The Crown tracks your total badge progress, while the Goat Horns come from a specific Ascent clear.
| Cosmetic | Badge | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|
Toga ![]() | Last Resort | Co-op only. Get the Ritual Dagger, have over 75% of your stamina bar missing, then stab a friend in the back to sacrifice them. |
Laurel ![]() | Last Resort | Same sacrifice unlocks the Laurel. |
Crown ![]() | None | Unlock all pre-MESA badges. |
Goat Horns ![]() | None | Complete Ascent 7. |
Work through these in the order that fits your climb, and check your Passport every few runs to see what is still missing. The biome-clear rewards fall into place naturally as you push higher, while the trickier feats give you a clear target list for anyone chasing a full sash from SHORE all the way to The Final Ascent.
