Everything you need to complete the Retrieve Hidden Forks task and claim 75 Bucks each in-game day.

The Tux & Shepherd on the Stray Case update, released on August 14, 2026, added a repeatable task to Adopt Me where a Mysterious Stranger asks you to track down six Bundles of Forks hidden around Adoption Island. Complete the delivery and you get 75 Bucks, and you can run the task again once per in-game day.

Quick answer: Knock on the locked door inside the School to accept the Retrieve Hidden Forks task, then walk any pet around the island until it reacts near a hidden Fork Bundle. Collect six, return to the door, and interact with it to receive 75 Bucks.

What Fork Bundles are and what they reward

Fork Bundles are limited-time items tied to the Mysterious Stranger’s Task. Each one looks like a small bundle of blue forks wrapped in white paper and tied with a dark blue ribbon. They do not stay in your inventory as a collectible. You gather them only to hand over for the quest.

Start the task at the School door

Head to the School building on Adoption Island. Inspector Shepherd and Tux Kitt stand near the entrance, and the task begins at a locked door marked with a fork symbol inside.
Walk up to the locked door and press E to knock. The grumpy stranger on the other side speaks to you and hands over the Retrieve Hidden Forks task, asking for six Bundles of Forks.

Once accepted, your Task Board shows the quest at 0/6. The Forks are disguised as ordinary objects scattered across the island, so they will not be obvious on sight.

Use your pet to locate hidden Forks

The fastest way to track down each Fork Bundle is to equip a pet and walk it around the map. When you get near a hidden Fork, your pet reacts. It turns to face the item, then shows heart emojis in its eyes as you close in. Question mark emojis mean you are moving away.

When the pet locks onto a spot, look for the disguised object and press E or click it to collect the bundle. Your Task Board counter ticks up by one each time. Pets work outdoors across the island, and vehicles can help you cover ground faster.

Note: Fork spawn points are randomized for every player. A bundle you find in one location will not necessarily be in the same place for a friend, so treat the spots below as places to check rather than fixed answers.

Common Fork Bundle spawn spots

Fork Bundles hide inside everyday props around Adoption Island. Checking these areas first cuts down the search time before you rely on your pet to sniff out the rest.

AreaWhere to look
BeachCrates, barrels, wooden logs, sticks, and sand buckets near the campfire

Turn in the Forks and confirm the reward

Once your Task Board reads 6/6, return to the locked door inside the School where you accepted the task.

Press E at the door. The stranger tells you to leave the forks, a circular progress bar fills to 100 percent, and you are handed 75 Bucks.

You know it worked when the dialogue reads “Here’s your reward… 75 Bucks” and the Task Board marks the quest complete. The stranger also mentions the job is not over, which is your cue that the task returns.

When the task resets

The Retrieve Hidden Forks task can be repeated once every in-game day rather than once per real-world day. After you turn in a set, the Task Board shows a countdown to the next hunt. When it comes back around, knock on the door again, walk your pet, and collect another six for another 75 Bucks. The payout stays at 75 Bucks each time you complete it.
