FC 26 Creative License Evolution: Best CAMs to Upgrade

The token cost, eligibility caps, full stat boosts, and the strongest attacking midfielders to feed into it.

The token cost, eligibility caps, full stat boosts, and the strongest attacking midfielders to feed into it.

The Creative License Evolution in FC 26 Ultimate Team turns a mid-tier attacking midfielder into a sharper playmaker, adding pace, passing, and a stack of creative PlayStyles across three levels. It costs 100 Pre-Season Tokens to unlock, and any card you pick has to sit inside a fairly tight set of caps before it qualifies.

Quick answer: Use a CAM rated 97 or lower with a maximum of 10 PlayStyles and 4 PlayStyle+, then play one match per level to trigger every upgrade. Sarr RTTF, Odegaard PTG, Messi TOTS, and Zidane GOTG Icon are among the strongest fits.

Eligibility caps and token cost

Before you spend anything, check the card against every requirement below. If a player breaks even one cap, the evolution will not accept them.

The 97 overall ceiling is generous, so most high-end promo and Icon CAMs qualify as long as they have not already been loaded with PlayStyles. Cards that already carry lots of PlayStyle+ slots are the ones most likely to fall outside the limit.

Stat boosts across all three levels

The upgrades build in stages. Level 1 focuses on speed and vision, Level 2 loads up passing and free kicks, and Level 3 finishes the creative profile with curve, long passing, and pinged passing.

LevelAttribute and PlayStyle boosts
Level 1Overall +4 (98), Acceleration +10 (98), Sprint Speed +10 (98), Vision +20 (98), Skills +4, PlayStyle+ Quick Step (4)
Level 2Crossing +20 (98), Short Passing +20 (98), Free Kick +20 (98), PlayStyle+ Incisive Pass (4), PlayStyle Tiki Taka (7)
Level 3Curve +20 (98), Long Passing +20 (98), PlayStyle+ Pinged Pass (4), PlayStyles Rapid and Inventive (7)

By the end, the card can reach 98 overall with elite-level acceleration, vision, and passing numbers, plus Quick Step, Incisive Pass, and Pinged Pass at the plus tier. That combination suits a possession-heavy CAM who dictates play from the center.

How to complete each level

Every level shares the same simple objective, so the grind is short.

Assign your chosen CAM as the active EVO player and set them in your starting eleven.
Play one full match in any mode with that player on the pitch to clear Level 1.
Repeat one match each for Level 2 and Level 3. Three matches total unlock all boosts.

You know a level has applied when the card’s stats and PlayStyles update in the Evolutions menu and the next level unlocks. If the progress does not register, confirm the evolved player actually appeared in the match, since keeping them on the bench does not count toward the objective.

Best players to use in Creative License Evolution

The strongest candidates already have a creative base that the passing and vision boosts push toward the top tier. These CAMs all fit the caps and gain the most from the upgrade path.

Pick a card you will actually field and one whose links keep your squad chemistry intact, since the point is a long-term starter rather than a menu showpiece. If you value early pace, the Level 1 acceleration and Quick Step gains reward players who already move well, while possession managers get the most from the Tiki Taka and Incisive Pass additions later in the chain.
