Perfecting a Pal in Palworld 1.0.3 is really ten smaller upgrades stacked on top of each other. Star rank, souls, active skills, passives, stat fruits, level, trust, work suitability, awakening, and food buffs each cover a different slider. If you stockpile the right consumables first, a level 1 hatchling can be pushed to its ceiling in minutes instead of hours of grinding.
Quick answer: Farm Dog Coins from wild Mimogs at the World Tree, Giant Pal Souls from bred-and-butchered Pals, Ancient Relics from Dusty Ravine, and Stat Fruits plus Training Crystals from Moon Lord raids. Then apply Starfruit for stars, souls at a Statue of Power, Skill Fruits for moves, Implants for passives, Life/Power/Stout Fruits for IVs, Training Crystals for levels, and Kinship Peaches for trust.

The upgrade systems and where to farm each one
Every system improves a different part of a Pal. The fastest route is to build each farm once, then reuse the stockpile on every future Pal.
| System | What it improves | Main source |
|---|---|---|
| Star Rank | Partner skill, base stats | Starfruit (Dog Coins / relics) or condensing |
| Pal Souls | HP, ATK, DEF, work speed | Breed and butcher, then crush at a Crusher |
| Active Skills | Combat moves | Skill Fruits from World Tree trees and the Orchard |
| Passives | Traits and mutations | Implants from vendors or Relic Recycler |
| Stat Fruits (IVs) | HP/ATK/DEF potential | Dog Coins or Moon Lord raid |
| Level | Base stats | Training Crystals from Moon Lord |
| Trust | Hidden stat bonus | Kinship Peaches |
| Work Suitability | Base work level | Legendary Treasure Map handbooks |
| Awakening | Elemental power | Radiant Gems + Holy Water |
| Food Buffs | Temporary ATK/DEF | Breed and butcher, or expeditions |

Dog Coins pay for Starfruit, Stat Fruits, and Work Handbooks at Medal Merchants, so this farm comes first. You earn them by killing wild Mimogs at the World Tree. Only wild kills count. Breeding and butchering Mimogs gives zero Dog Coins.
Run Katress and Blazehowl Noct together in your party. Both are Neutral-type drop boosters of different species, so their bonuses stack and you get the same coin haul from fewer kills. When spending, prioritize Stat Fruits, then Work Handbooks, then Star Rank items.
Star Rank without endless condensing
The classic path is breeding duplicates through the Ancient Hatchery and condensing them at your base, which is efficient if you are already breeding for passives. If you have no breeding setup, Starfruit skips that grind entirely and raises star rank instantly.
Starfruit comes in tiers from +1 to +4, plus Ripe Starfruit, and you buy them from Medal Merchants with Dog Coins or recycle them from Ancient Relics. Only buy the tier you are missing. A Pal already at 2 stars does not need the full 0-to-4 set.

Pal Souls for cheap, fast stat gains
Souls raise HP, Attack, Defense, and work speed at a Statue of Power. Combat Pals want the offensive and defensive souls, while workers only need Work Speed, which fills far faster.
The core trick is that any tier of Pal Soul converts into other tiers at a Crusher, so you only need one high-tier farm. Breeding and butchering Eikthyrdeer yields Giant Pal Souls, and butchering bred Aegidron drops Giant Pal Souls alongside Thermal Cores. Crush those Giant Souls down into Small, Medium, or Large as needed. One farm covers all four soul tiers.
Stat Fruits to max out IVs
Life, Power, and Stout Fruit each add +10 to HP, Attack, and Defense potential respectively. Equip Ability Glasses to read a Pal’s current IV values so you know how many fruits it still needs.
| Method | Speed | Consistency |
|---|---|---|
| Buy with Dog Coins | Medium | Very high |
| Moon Lord normal raid | High | Medium |
For the raid route, capture two Eye of Cthulhu, breed and butcher them for Hallowed Bars, craft Lesser Sigils, then summon and kill Moon Lord. A normal clear drops 3 Stat Fruits of one random type. If your damage build kills Moon Lord quickly, this beats shopping with Dog Coins.

Training Crystals to push to level 80
Each Training Crystal grants one full level. The normal Moon Lord raid drops 4 per kill, while the Master difficulty Moon Lord raid drops 10 per kill. Keeping Omascul in your party adds passive XP bonuses on top.
Do not waste crystals below level 50. Save the stockpile for the 70-to-80 stretch, where normal experience gains slow to a crawl.

Active skills through Skill Fruits
Skill Fruits teach high-tier active moves. Get a single copy of the fruit you want, then plant it in the Skill Fruit Orchard. It multiplies over time and occasionally produces bonus fruit of the same element, so you never buy duplicates.
First copies come from the Arena Merchant for Battle Tickets, wild fruit trees in the World Tree zone, and World Tree chests. Psycho Gravity is the exception. It only comes from the hard-mode World Tree boss.

Passive skills through Implants
Implants teach passive skills directly, without breeding. Permanent implants such as Vanguard and Stronghold Strategist come from Bounty Vendors for Bounty Tokens, while Serenity, Runner, and Reload Master come from the Arena Merchant for Battle Tickets.
Farm Bounty Tokens fast by capturing bounty targets, breeding them, and butchering the offspring. Higher-level targets yield more tokens. Disposable implants, including rainbow, World Tree, and mutation passives, come from the Ancient Relic Recycler. Mutation passives specifically require Legendary Ancient Relics.
Ancient Relic farm: Dusty Ravine
Dusty Ravine in the northeast of the World Tree zone has dense Snokelux packs, making it the best relic farm. Bring Vaelet, Menasting, and Menasting Terra so the variant stacking boosts your drop count. Bow from a flying mount to save resources, or clear packs quickly with a Beam Launcher. Volume matters more than boss kills here.

Trust level and Kinship Peaches
Reaching Trust Level 10 gives a significant hidden stat bonus. Trust builds passively for free just by keeping the Pal in your party while you farm coins, relics, or bases. Kinship Peaches speed the bar to the top.
| Kinship Peach source | Reliability |
|---|---|
| Hard expeditions | High |
| Desert-and-later enemy bases | High (30-min respawn) |
| Relic Recycler | Medium |
Feybreak Island coastal bases are the sweet spot because one chest can hold both a guaranteed Peach and a Legendary Treasure Map. Capturing and butchering high-tier bounty targets with Yakumo and Splaterina in the party is another reliable route.

Work suitability handbooks
Handbooks permanently raise a Pal’s work suitability tier. Each Legendary Treasure Map awards 3 random handbooks, so clear Feybreak and Sakurajima bases for maps and follow them to treasure. If you need one specific handbook, buy it at a flat Dog Coin price from a Medal Merchant instead of gambling on map RNG.
Awakening Crystals and food buffs
Awakening Crystals are crafted from Radiant Gems and Holy Water, and the gems are the bottleneck rather than the water. Run the final expedition on normal or hard for passive gems, and hunt matching elemental Pals in the World Tree with a drop-booster in party for active gems. If you are awakening a full raid team, use both methods together.
For temporary combat stats, Mammorest Curry boosts Attack and Galeclaw Nikujaga boosts Defense, both sold by the Legendary Gourmet Merchant. Pull the meat from hard expeditions, or breed and butcher Mammorest and Galeclaw directly for bulk. Base workers only need Salad from lettuce and tomato, which is easy to automate.

Upgrade order and how to confirm it worked
Apply upgrades in impact order so the biggest gains land first. Passives come first because they change the most, followed by star rank, souls, active skills, stat fruits, level 80, trust, awakening, food buffs, and work handbooks last. Move work handbooks up the list if the Pal is base-focused rather than a fighter.
You can verify each change in the Pal’s menu. Star icons rise as Starfruit is applied, the level number climbs one per Training Crystal, and the trust bar shows Level 10 once it fills. Ability Glasses confirm IV values after Life, Power, and Stout Fruit, and the passive and active skill lists update immediately when an Implant or Skill Fruit is taught. Build these farms once, and every Pal after that finishes in minutes rather than hours.
