Every Greedy Growers Mutation and How to Trigger It (Update 1.2)

The six mutations, their exact value multipliers, and the weather or lightning condition that applies each one.

The six mutations, their exact value multipliers, and the weather or lightning condition that applies each one.

Mutations raise the sale value of your crops in Greedy Growers by attaching a value multiplier to seeds, plants, and fruits. As of Update 1.2, there are six of them, and each one is tied to a specific weather event or a lightning strike at the right moment. Getting the strongest mutations is the fastest way to turn a single tree into a large payout.

Quick answer: Cosmic is the strongest mutation at a 100x multiplier, and you can get it on seeds and fruits with a 2.5% chance during the Meteor Shower weather event. The full list runs Dewy (2x), Shocked (2.5x), Radioactive (5x), Charged (7.5x), Golden (25x), and Cosmic (100x).

All six mutations, multipliers, and triggers

Every mutation applies the same multiplier whether it lands on a seed, a plant, or a fruit. Weather-based mutations use a fixed chance during their event, while Shocked and Charged depend entirely on a lightning strike near harvest time. The percentages below are the chance to receive the mutation while its weather event is active, not the chance of the event itself.

MutationMultiplierHow to get it
Dewy2x50% chance on seeds and fruits during the Misty weather event
Shocked2.5xLightning strikes a tree within 1.0x of harvest while the multiplier stays under 25x
Radioactive5x20% chance on seeds and fruits during the Acid Rain weather event
Charged7.5xLightning strikes a tree within 1.0x of harvest while the multiplier is above 25x
Golden25x7.5% chance on seeds and fruits during the Rainbow weather event
Cosmic100x2.5% chance on seeds and fruits during the Meteor Shower weather event

How weather events apply Dewy, Radioactive, Golden, and Cosmic

Four of the six mutations come straight from weather. Each weather event fires at random and lasts 4 minutes and 30 seconds. While an event is running, any seed or fruit affected has the listed chance to pick up that event’s mutation. Misty gives Dewy, Acid Rain gives Radioactive, Rainbow gives Golden, and Meteor Shower gives Cosmic.

You do not have to wait for the weather to cooperate. You can force any specific event from the Shop using Robux, which lets you target the exact mutation you want instead of relying on the random cycle. Because rarer mutations have lower chances during their events, higher-value targets like Golden and Cosmic take more attempts even with the correct weather active.

How lightning triggers Shocked and Charged

Shocked and Charged do not come from weather at all. They both require lightning to strike a tree within 1.0x of when you harvest it. The one thing that decides which of the two you get is the tree’s multiplier at the moment of the strike.

  • If the multiplier stays under 25x, the strike produces the Shocked mutation (2.5x).
  • If the multiplier is above 25x, the same strike produces Charged instead (7.5x).

A tree that gains one of these mutations passes it on. A Shocked tree grows fruit that carries the Shocked mutation, and a Charged tree does the same with Charged. Note that lightning can also kill an unharvested tree, so the same event that hands you a mutation can end a run if you time it poorly.

How mutations pass from seed to fruit

Mutations follow the plant through its whole life cycle. A mutated seed grows into a plant with the same mutation, and that plant produces fruit carrying it too. Mutated fruit sells for more than plain fruit, and even a dead mutated tree keeps a higher sale value than a regular one.

There are two reliable ways to start a mutated plant. You can pick up mutated seeds from the river belt, or you can expose your own plants to the matching weather event. Planting a seed on the plot while the right weather is active can also apply a mutation to it before it grows.

Tip: Mutations stack. A plant that already has one mutation can catch a second during another weather event, and the fruit it grows inherits the combined result. Stacking a weather mutation onto a lightning mutation is how the highest-value trees are built.

Which mutation is worth farming

Cosmic is the top target because its 100x multiplier dwarfs everything else, but its 2.5% chance during Meteor Shower makes it the slowest to land. Golden at 25x is the strong middle ground, since a 7.5% chance during Rainbow weather hits far more often. Dewy and Radioactive are easy volume mutations thanks to their 50% and 20% chances, and they stack cleanly onto a lightning-based Shocked or Charged tree for a bigger combined payout.

You can test any of these conditions directly by loading into Greedy Growers and forcing a weather event from the Shop, then checking the mutation label on your seed, plant, or harvested fruit.
