Grow a Chicken Fighter: How to Get the Best Chicken (Reaper x Voodoo)

The farming route, drop rates, and fusion steps that put the Voodoo skill on a Reaper Rooster.

The farming route, drop rates, and fusion steps that put the Voodoo skill on a Reaper Rooster.

The strongest fighter you can build in Grow a Chicken Fighter is a Reaper Rooster carrying the Voodoo skill. The Reaper Rooster already has the highest base stats in the game, and Voodoo reflects incoming damage back at the enemy, so a chicken that attacks it ends up hurting itself. Getting there means farming your way to the Haunt Egg, hatching two rare chickens, and fusing them the right way.

Quick answer: Fuse a Reaper Rooster with a Doll Hen, and lock the Doll Hen’s Voodoo ability in the fusion menu before confirming. The result is a Reaper Rooster that keeps its stats and gains Voodoo.

Why Reaper x Voodoo is the best build

Reaper Rooster sits at the top of the meta for both Tower runs and PvP because it has the highest base stats and strong scaling. On its own, it is already a heavy hitter, but its native ability is not what makes the build dominant.

Voodoo is where the combination earns its reputation. Instead of dealing straight damage, it turns every hit the enemy lands into damage the enemy also takes, and it launches a multi-hit burst attack. Against aggressive opponents that rely on constant attacks, this punishes them for playing offense. Placed on the Reaper Rooster’s stat frame, Voodoo makes the chicken effective in fights where raw damage alone would not be enough.

Where Reaper Rooster and Doll Hen come from

Both chickens you need drop from the Haunt Egg. Neither is a reliable hatch, and the Reaper Rooster in particular is one of the rarest pulls in the game. Plan for a long grind before both land in your flock.

Reaper RoosterHaunt Egg (also Blazing Egg)Less than 1%

Both chickens can also appear from the Blazing Egg during the Hot Event. If that event is running, it is a second route to the same chickens, so it is worth pulling from it while it is active. Outside of the event, the Haunt Egg is your steady supply.

Egg progression route to farm Haunt Eggs

You cannot farm Haunt Eggs from the start. The most efficient Haunt Egg producer is the Zombie Chick, which lays them at a 100% rate, but the Zombie Chick itself only hatches from Haunt Eggs. That means you have to climb through earlier egg tiers first to reach the point where a Creepy Clown can start generating Haunt Eggs.

Arena EggCreepy ClownHaunt Eggs (75%)
Haunt EggZombie ChickHaunt Eggs (100%)

The key milestone is the Creepy Clown, because that is the first chicken that opens up Haunt Egg farming. Once you hatch a Zombie Chick from those Haunt Eggs, the process becomes far more consistent since the Zombie Chick produces Haunt Eggs every cycle.

Tip: Fuse extra Zombie Chicks together to cut down egg-laying time. A faster Haunt Egg factory shortens the grind for the sub-1% Reaper Rooster and the 2% Doll Hen considerably.

How to fuse Reaper Rooster with Voodoo

Once both chickens are in your flock, the fusion itself is quick. The only part that matters is making sure you keep Voodoo and not some other ability. Follow the sequence exactly.

Open the Fuse menu from your flock.
Select the Reaper Rooster as one of your fusion materials.
Select the Doll Hen that carries the Voodoo ability as the second material.
Look at the abilities shown in the fusion menu, usually in the lower-left area, and find the Doll Hen’s Voodoo skill.
Click Voodoo to lock it so it is the ability that carries over. This is the step that determines whether the fusion succeeds.
Double-check that both chickens and the locked Voodoo ability are correct, then confirm the fusion.

How to confirm the fusion worked

A successful fusion leaves you with a Reaper Rooster that now lists Voodoo as its skill. That single chicken is what you take into both Tower progression and PvP.

The common failure is not locking Voodoo before confirming. If you skip that step, the game can select or transfer a different ability, and you lose the combination you farmed for. Because the Reaper Rooster is so rare, always verify the locked ability reads Voodoo before you hit confirm.

The hard part of this build is never the fusion. It is collecting the ingredients. Work through the egg chain to reach the Creepy Clown, hatch a Zombie Chick to lock in a steady Haunt Egg supply, and keep pulling until both the Doll Hen and the Reaper Rooster appear. Once they do, lock Voodoo, fuse, and you have the strongest fighter in the game.
