Passive Abilities sit quietly in the background of Fish It and fire on their own. You equip one, keep fishing, and once your cast count hits the ability’s trigger number, the effect goes off without you pressing anything. There are seven of them in total, running from Common up to Secret, and they all come from the same roll system.
Quick answer: Draw your fishing rod, tap the Roll button that appears above the Auto option, and use your one free spin. Every roll after that costs 6 Shards or 49 Robux.
All seven Passive Abilities, rarities, and cast triggers
Each passive has its own rarity, roll odds, cast requirement, and duration value. Higher tiers do not always mean a longer wait — Lightning, Singularity, and Divine all share the same 400-cast trigger as Lava.
| Ability | Rarity | Odds | Cast trigger | Active for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bubble | Common | 26.1% | 225 | 30 |
| Wind | Uncommon | 21.7% | 300 | 30 |
| Frost | Rare | 19.6% | 350 | 35 |
| Lava | Epic | 15.2% | 400 | 40 |
| Lightning | Legendary | 8.7% | 400 | 49 |
| Singularity | Mythical | 4.3% | 400 | 40 |
| Divine | Secret | 4.3% | 400 | 100 |
Singularity and Divine are tied for the lowest roll chance at 4.3% each. Bubble is the one you are most likely to see first.

Add to Google Preferences →What each passive does when it triggers
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Bubble | A small luck bonus when the giant bubble pops. |
| Wind | Raises luck and reeling speed. |
| Frost | Raises luck and adds a chance to roll the Frost Mutation. |
| Lava | Raises luck with an extra bonus toward catching sharks. |
| Lightning | Zeus-themed effect that can chain extra casts. |
| Singularity | Black hole effect with a large luck boost. |
| Divine | Boosts luck for nearby players and gives you a triple fish pull. |
How to roll for a Passive Ability

Note: the roll menu flags that boosted server luck also raises your ability rolling luck, so rolling on a boosted server is worth doing if you are chasing the 4.3% tiers.
Roll costs in Shards and Robux
| Bundle | Cost |
|---|---|
| First roll | Free, one time |
| 1x Spin | 6 Shards or 49 Robux |
| 10x Spins | 490 Robux |
| 25x Spins | 1,255 Robux |
Robux is optional here. Shards drop through normal play, so the whole set can be collected without spending real money — it just takes longer. Banking Shards until you can afford a run of five to ten rolls in one sitting is more efficient than rolling one at a time.
How cast triggers work during a session
The trigger number is a cast count, not a timer. Bubble fires after 225 casts, Wind after 300, Frost after 350, and everything from Lava up needs 400. There is no button to press and no cooldown to manage — the count builds as you fish, the effect goes off, and the counter starts over.
That makes the low-tier passives more useful than their rarity suggests in short sessions. A 225-cast trigger will fire in a session where a 400-cast passive never gets close. Long grinding sessions flip that around, since the higher tiers pay out far more when they do land.
Confirming a Passive Ability unlocked
A successful roll shows an unlock banner naming the ability, its rarity, and its odds — for example, Divine appearing as a Secret at 4.3%. The Abilities list also updates its owned and missing counter, dropping from “Missing 7” as you collect them.
If a passive never seems to fire, the usual reason is that it is owned but not equipped, or that you have not reached its cast trigger yet. Neither the roll menu nor the unlock banner equips anything for you.
Collecting all seven unlocks the Cloud Weaver rod skin
Owning every passive from Bubble through Divine unlocks the Cloud Weaver rod skin. It is a cosmetic reward, so there is no stat reason to chase it, but it is the only completion payout tied to the passive set.
The practical approach is simple enough. Take the free roll, equip whatever it gives you, then keep an ability slotted at all times while you save Shards toward the next batch of rolls. Even Bubble at the bottom of the table is doing something every 225 casts, and that adds up across a long session.
