Mortal Shell 2: How to Refill Your Healing Flask at Beacons

Resting at a Beacon fully tops up the Mether's Pulse, though it also revives every defeated enemy in the area.

Resting at a Beacon fully tops up the Mether’s Pulse, though it also revives every defeated enemy in the area.

Your healing flask in Mortal Shell 2 is the Mether’s Pulse, a rechargeable consumable that runs dry after a few uses. It does not refill from executions or pickups. Instead, you top it back up by visiting the tall, cone-shaped stone Beacons scattered across the world.

Quick answer: Rest at any Beacon and back out of its menu. Your Mether’s Pulse charges return to maximum (for example, 5/5) the moment you leave the menu.

Refill the Mether’s Pulse at a Beacon

Beacons are the large, dark stone monuments that mark key points on the map, such as Disciple’s Grotto. Reaching one and interacting with it is all that is needed to restore your healing flask.

Find a Beacon. Look for the tall cone-shaped structure, which may be sitting in a dark area like a cave until you activate it.

If this is your first time here, hold E to revitalize the Beacon. A bright white light triggers, and the location name appears on screen with a “BEACON FOUND” prompt.
Press E to rest at the Beacon. This opens a menu with options such as “Cleanse Beacon” and “Leave.”
Exit the menu. You do not need to cleanse anything. Simply resting and backing out refills your Mether’s Pulse to its full capacity.

Resting at a Beacon also restores your HP and Resolve, so it doubles as a full reset before a tough fight.

How to confirm it worked

Check the flask charge counter after you close the Beacon menu. A number that read 1/5 before resting will show 5/5 once the refill goes through. If the count is back at maximum, the Mether’s Pulse is ready to use again.

Note: Resting at a Beacon revives every enemy you defeated in that area. Plan for a fresh set of foes on the way out, and refill only when you are ready to clear the path again.

Increase how many charges you carry

Refilling always returns the flask to its current maximum. To raise that maximum, you upgrade the Mether’s Pulse using two materials, both of which are consumed at a Beacon.

MaterialEffect when consumed at a Beacon
Revered GlandImproves Capacity, giving you more Mether’s Pulse charges per refill.
Synaptic VesselImproves Efficiency, increasing how much each use of the flask does.

Both items can be found out in the world, and a limited supply is sold by Merrick at the Marrow Keep. To apply them, rest at a Beacon, open the Mether’s Pulse option, then choose Improve Capacity or Improve Efficiency and confirm. A notification such as “MOTHER’S PULSE CAPACITY +1” confirms the upgrade landed.

None of these upgrades are missable. If you skip one, you can return for it after the final boss during free roam, before starting New Game+.

The short version: is simple. Reach a Beacon, revitalize it the first time by holding E, then rest and exit the menu to send the Mether’s Pulse back to full. Feed it Revered Glands and Synaptic Vessels over time, and each refill will hand you more healing than the last.
