Mortal Shell 2: How to Leave the Marrow Keep and Reach Outskirts of Mammon

The Marrow Keep is the central hub of Mortal Shell 2, and it does not have a normal walk-out exit. You leave it by activating a teleport portal on the upper platform, which sends you to the Outskirts of Mammon. Before that portal works, you have to complete a short sequence around the Gloom Siphon and the stone lift.

Quick answer: Siphon 3 Ovum at the Gloom Siphon, speak with Milos, ride the stone lift to the top platform, hold the interact key to cleanse the corruption blocking the portal, then activate it and select “Outskirts of Mammon” to teleport out.

What you need before the portal will work

The exit portal at the top of the Marrow Keep starts blocked by dark, thorny corruption. You cannot cleanse or use it until you have fed the Gloom Siphon and progressed Milos’s part of the Ova quest. The requirements are short.

Returning Unblemished Ova to the Marrow Keep yields rewards at the Gloom Siphon and pushes the story forward, so this step doubles as progression rather than a detour.

Steps to leave the Marrow Keep

From the stone stairs inside the hub, run past Ziarelle: Harbinger, the large seated figure, and continue past the glowing yellow rest beacon. Neither one blocks you, so you can move straight through toward the central chamber.

At the Gloom Siphon, hold the interact key to use it. This siphons 3 Ovum and registers your delivered Ova. You should see the “3 OVUM SIPHONED” confirmation.

Talk to Milos next to the siphon. He acknowledges the delivered Ova, which advances the quest and clears the way to keep moving.

Move into the next room, a circular chamber holding the stone lift. Step onto the platform and let it carry you up the vertical shaft to the upper level surrounded by kneeling, petrified figures.

Approach the dark, thorny structure at the top and hold the interact key to cleanse the corruption. This clears the branches blocking the portal.

Activate the cleansed portal to open the map interface, choose “Outskirts of Mammon”, and press the interact key to teleport. You will leave the Marrow Keep and arrive at the selected destination.

How to confirm you left successfully

You know the exit worked when the portal prompt turns into the map screen and you can highlight and select Outskirts of Mammon. After confirming, the loading transition drops you into that region rather than back in the hub. Because the Marrow Keep is reachable only through fast travel, this teleport platform is your standard way out every time you visit.

Why the portal won’t activate

If you reach the top platform and the portal does nothing, the corruption in front of it is still in place. The teleport only opens after you hold the interact key long enough to fully cleanse the thorny structure. If the interact prompt does not appear at all, you likely skipped the Gloom Siphon or Milos, so return to the central chamber, siphon your 3 Ovum, and speak with him before riding the lift back up.
