Grow a Garden: Harvest Moon Part 4 Patch Notes and Collection Rewards

How the new quest stand, the 20-tier reward track, and the 80% collection requirement for the Harvest Moon Shovel work.

Harvest Moon Part 4 closes out the Harvest Moon event in Grow a Garden, and it shifts the focus away from summoning weather and toward two progression systems: a repeatable quest track and a completion-based collection. Both feed into the same goal, which is unlocking the event’s remaining seeds, pets, mutations, and one exclusive cosmetic.

Quick answer: Complete Harvest Moon Quests at the new stand to climb 20 reward tiers, and fill at least 80% of the Harvest Moon Collection to unlock the Harvest Moon Shovel skin.

How the Harvest Moon Quests reward track works

Quests are handed out from a new stand added with the update. You hold three at a time, and finishing them does two things at once — it raises the moon in the sky and pushes you further along the reward track. The higher the moon climbs, the more tiers you have banked.

RuleDetail
Active questsThree at any given time
Refresh timerEvery 4 hours
Reward tiersUp to 20
Progress effectEach completed quest raises the moon and unlocks further tiers
After tier 20Reset the track to earn rewards again

The reset is the part worth planning around. Once you clear all 20 tiers, the track can be wiped and run through again, so the quest stand stays useful instead of turning into a one-and-done grind. Since quests only refresh on a four-hour cycle, clearing all three as soon as they appear is the fastest way to keep the track moving.

Harvest Moon Collection and the Harvest Moon Shovel unlock

The Harvest Moon Collection tracks event seeds, pets, and cosmetics in one place. It is not an all-or-nothing requirement — the exclusive Harvest Moon Shovel skin unlocks at 80% completion, which leaves room to miss a few of the rarest entries and still walk away with the cosmetic.

Because the collection counts pets and cosmetics alongside seeds, quest rewards and crafting both contribute to it. Anything new you unlock through the tier track is also filling in collection slots, so the two systems progress together rather than competing for your time.

Note: You will know the shovel unlocked when the Harvest Moon Shovel appears as an equippable skin — the collection screen is the place to confirm your exact completion percentage before assuming you have hit the threshold.

New plants, pet, and cosmetic added in Part 4

The content additions are compact this time. Two seeds, one pet, and one cosmetic join the event pool, all of which count toward the collection.

New mutations and additional rewards are also folded into the collection alongside these entries, distributed through the tier track as you climb it.

Crafting change and Wise Owl cooldown adjustment

Two changes affect how you farm during the event. The Moon Egg has been moved into Harvest Moon Crafting, giving you a direct route to it instead of relying purely on shop stock. Separately, the Wise Owl’s cooldown now ticks down twice as fast while a Harvest Moon is active, which makes summoning the weather worth timing around your owl usage.

Bug fixes and performance changes

  • Plants that would sometimes stop growing should now grow correctly
  • Fixed cases where you were treated as too far away from the sell NPC
  • Apples no longer float in some situations
  • Assorted plant-related bugs resolved
  • Assorted pet-related bugs resolved
  • General performance improvements

The two fixes most likely to change your day-to-day routine are the growth bug and the sell NPC distance check, both of which quietly cost time on every farming loop.

As the final part of the Harvest Moon event, this is the last window to fill in the collection at 80% or better. Prioritize the quest stand first — the tier rewards are what supply the seeds and pets you still need, and the four-hour refresh means the track rewards steady check-ins more than long single sessions.
