Best Grow a Chicken Fighter Skills and Chickens, Ranked (August 2026)

Reaper Rooster with Voodoo and 404 Chick with Cycle of Ash are the two builds worth maxing.

Reaper Rooster with Voodoo and 404 Chick with Cycle of Ash are the two builds worth maxing.

Grow a Chicken Fighter will spend every egg and coin you feed it on a bird that still drops in the Pit. The only two choices that change that outcome are which chicken you keep and which single skill it carries into Tower and PvP.

Quick answer: Max Reaper Rooster with Voodoo, plus 404 Chick and Nebula Hen with Cycle of Ash. Fuse those skills onto those bodies, then stop pouring resources into the rest of the coop.

As of August 2026, after Update 1, newer hatches have not moved that short list. What decides a placement is Tower and PvP performance, the stat ceiling, and whether the unit is worth long-term feed or only useful as a fusion donor or an early farm bird.

Reaper Rooster and 404 Chick fusion pairings

Every chicken hatches with one skill. The only way to change that skill is to fuse it with a donor that already holds the one you want. After the merge, open the result card. The skill name has to read Voodoo or Cycle of Ash. If the old skill is still there, the donor was wrong or the fuse did not take.

BuildSkill to fuse onWhere it holds up
Reaper Rooster + Doll HenVoodooTower and PvP
404 Chick + Radiant FenghuangCycle of AshPvP first, Tower second
Nebula Hen + Cycle of AshCycle of AshLate game once HP is built

Reaper Rooster is the safest all-round body. It has the highest base stats on the roster and does not lean on one mode. Doll Hen is a weak fighter, but it is the Voodoo carrier, so you keep it only long enough to move that skill onto Reaper.

404 Chick scales as hard as Reaper and is the cleaner PvP pick once Cycle of Ash is attached. Nebula Hen matches both of them on attack and speed at the cap and then beats them on health. It starts softer, so it needs levels and Cycle of Ash before it looks like an endgame card.

If a Phoenix Hen shows up, move Rebirth onto any of those three bodies. Rebirth is strong enough to sit next to Voodoo and Cycle of Ash. It is not required to make the two headline pairings work.

The roster is larger than 130 chickens. Almost none of them are worth a full feed path. S-tier is the long-term combat set. A-tier carries you until those three exist. B-tier is mostly a farm tool or a skill battery. C-tier is early cash and then inventory clutter.

404 ChickCursed EggBlazing Egg
Nebula HenVoid EggBlazing Egg

Haunt, Cursed, and Void eggs are the realistic farm. Blazing Egg raises the odds and is harder to keep in stock. Reaper is the card you build if you want one bird that does not care whether the next fight is a Tower floor or a Pit brawl. 404 Chick is the one you build if the Pit is the problem. Nebula Hen is the one you refuse to scrap just because the early levels feel thin.

A-tier chickens you can replace later

Golden Goose is a Tower tank with usable stats and slow feet. That slowness is why it falls over in PvP. Fortune Egg and Blazing Egg are the usual paths to it.

Baron Cluck is easy to hatch from Royal Egg, Arena Egg, and Blazing Egg. It prints early money and brings Za Warudo, which is enough to clear mid Tower and hold a Pit lane until a real S-tier body exists. It is also a practical farm bird for Fortune Eggs if Golden Goose is the next target.

Astro Chick is the balanced early fighter. Blazing, Thunder, and Void eggs can produce it, and it lays Void Eggs at a high rate, around 70 percent. The stat ceiling is the limit. Once Reaper, 404, or Nebula is in the yard, Astro becomes a farm bird, not a final build.

Grow a Chicken Fighter skill rankings

ARide of the Fallen, Blood Draw, Split Image
BTitan Mode, Za Warudo

A skill is strong when it keeps a high-stat chicken in the fight or turns that chicken’s hits into a swing. The three S-tier skills do both. A-tier skills are real, but they usually stay on the chicken that hatched with them. B-tier skills win early rooms and then run out of duration or stop mattering on a Reaper or 404 body. Titan Mode and Za Warudo get more love in some rooms than they earn on a finished account. They are fine on a starter. They are not the reason you burn a rare fuse.

S-tier skills

Rebirth stands the chicken back up at half health after the first knockout, throws an area hit, and grants a short invincible window. That extra life is why it belongs on any long Tower climb or any Pit fight you cannot afford to lose once.

Voodoo sends incoming damage back at the enemy and then follows with a multi-hit burst. On Reaper Rooster it is the cleanest finished kit in the game. Cycle of Ash heals over a few seconds and then dumps a burst into the opponent. That mix of sustain and spike is why it is the default attach for 404 Chick and Nebula Hen.

A-tier and B-tier skills

Ride of the Fallen stitches health back while raising attack and speed for a few seconds. It is the right bandage on a chicken that dies too fast and the wrong destination for a Reaper fuse. Blood Draw raises damage while it is up and ends in a knockback burst, which is enough for an offensive mid-game bird. Split Image copies the chicken with the same stats for a short window, so Tower and PvP both see two bodies instead of one.

Titan Mode grows the chicken and lifts damage, toughness, and speed. The window is short, which is why it still helps Founder Rooster in Tower and why it is a waste on Reaper or 404. Za Warudo locks the enemy in place and hits hard while they cannot move. Beginners feel that immediately. It stays useful. It does not outgrow Voodoo, Cycle of Ash, or Rebirth.

Doll Hen comes from Haunt Egg and Blazing Egg. Radiant Fenghuang comes from Royal Egg and Blazing Egg. Founder Rooster is the easy hatch, with odds on Ordnance, Blazing, Fang, Fortune, Royal, and Thunder eggs. Hatch the donor, fuse the skill onto the S-tier body, and do not keep feeding the donor.

Classic RoosterNothing lastingAny Scratch Egg chicken exists

Cosmo Brat is one of the better early farm birds and a perfect Scratch Egg machine. The stat ceiling is low, so extra feed is a loss. Founder Rooster is easy to roll and fine for early floors. Farmer Rooster scales quickly and then hits a wall at 12 gene levels. Classic Rooster is the weakest hatch in the set and has no egg line worth protecting.

Keep the three combat bodies, the two skill donors until they are fused, and one farm chicken that actually lays the eggs you still need. Sell the rest. If a bird cannot wear Rebirth, Voodoo, or Cycle of Ash and cannot produce a rare egg, it is cash.
