Chance is a Void tier, damage-focused tower added to Retro Tower Defense through the RTD x Forsaken collaboration. It sits at the center of the event’s reward track, and reaching it comes down to one thing: banking enough Event Pass points before the event closes.
Quick answer: Play event matches until you reach 5,000 Event Pass points, then claim the central Chance node in the Event Pass tab. There are no special quests to complete, and points build up simply from playing during the event.
The Chance tower: Void tier stats and role
Chance is a revolver-wielding DPS tower with a built-in chance to land critical hits. Its defining feature is a card system that hands out temporary buffs while it fights, which makes its output swing higher than its base numbers suggest. The collaboration that introduced it also brought 20 new skins, 4 new maps, and 3 permanent achievements alongside the tower itself.

Here are Chance’s base stats as they appear in the inventory:
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Price | $17,500 |
| Damage | 200 |
| Cooldown | 1s |
| Crit Chance | 30% |
| Crit Damage | x2.25 |
| Range | 18m |
| Luck | x1.75 |

Chance is not a gacha pull. It is a fixed reward on the Event Pass, so the only requirement is accumulating points by playing while the event is live.

You will know it worked when Chance appears in your inventory as a Void Tower and can be equipped into your loadout. If it is not showing up yet, the most common reason is simply that you have not crossed 5,000 points, or you have not claimed the node after reaching the threshold.
Note: The Event Pass is only available while the collaboration is running, so bank your points before the event ends.
Chance’s card mechanic and the Another One trait
Once placed, Chance can use its Deal Cards ability to draw cards that apply unique temporary buffs. Its trait, Another One, upgrades the draw so it pulls four cards at once instead of three, giving you more chances to hit a strong effect in a single deal.
The cards range from small tweaks to major, short-lived power spikes:
| Card | Effect |
|---|---|
| Snake Eyed | -50% cooldown |
| Ace of Spades | x2 Crit Damage |
| High Roller | x2 Crit Chance for 10s |
| Gone Bust | Explosive bullets for 10s |
| Color Up | Free upgrade to the next level |
| Royal Flush | Explosive bullets, x2 damage, and x2 Crit Chance for 20s |
Because the buffs are temporary, the tower rewards timing your deals around tough waves and boss moments rather than firing them off at random.
Nayn and Alien skins for Chance
Chance has two event skins tied to the same reward track. The Nayn skin sits further along the Event Pass and costs 7,000 points, so it comes after you have already secured the tower at 5,000. An Alien skin, which swaps in green glowing effects along with a fedora, suit, and reworked weapon across its levels, is also part of the event rewards.
Since the tower unlocks at the central node and the Nayn skin comes later, the fastest path is to prioritize reaching 5,000 points first, then keep playing if you want the cosmetic upgrades. Everything here is locked to the collaboration window, so both the tower and its skins need to be claimed before the event closes.
