The Override season rebuilds the Fortnite loot pool around video game nostalgia, mixing collab weapons from Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man with new Gizmos, Power-Ups, and a stack of unvaulted classics. Almost everything from the previous season is gone, leaving healing items and Overdrive Grenades as the only familiar carryovers.

New weapons, Power-Ups, and Gizmos
The headline additions are three guns and a movement item. The 8-Bit Shotgun is an automatic shotgun styled like a retro console, reloading with game cartridges and tracking combo multipliers on a built-in scoreboard. The Mega Buster is Mega Man’s arm cannon, firing single energy pellets, quick-charged shots, or long-charged explosive projectiles, and it works even while you sprint or slide-boost. Midas’ Masterpiece is a single-fire golden pistol that eliminates an enemy with one headshot, but only one spawns per match and its ammo is scarce.
The Sonic Power Sneakers replace last season’s traversal gear. They let you roll into a ball to zip across the island, charge a grounded Spin Dash, or launch an airborne Spin Attack.

The season also scatters new collectible Sprites across the map, including the Klombo, Sonic, Shadow, Tails, and Crown Sprites. Sprites you caught in the previous season carry over into the Sprite Garden.
Loot Hacks bought with Sprite Dust
Loot Hacks let you spend Sprite Dust to add a chosen item from a past season into your Chest drops. You earn Sprite Dust by catching Sprites, then pick which extra loot can appear when you open Chests. Six items are available through this mechanic right now.

Unvaulted weapons in the floor loot pool
Several older weapons return as standard floor loot, most of them pulled from Fortnite’s early chapters to match the retro theme. These sit alongside the new gear and can be found the usual way while looting.

Two named crossover weapons are confirmed to arrive after launch rather than at the start. The Kingdom Key is Sora’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, and Rebecca’s Guns are a dual-wielded set inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Both were shown in season promotion but are not in the day-one loot pool.
