The Sonic Power Sneakers are the headline mobility item of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, and they turn you into a blue ball that can cover ground faster than any vehicle in the loot pool. They spawn in normal loot, but there is also a way to force one to appear in almost every match.
Quick answer: Open chests or grab floor loot anywhere on the Season 4 island, defeat a player carrying the sneakers, throw a Llama Supply Drop Gizmo, or kill the Doctor Eggman boss for the Mythic version.
Where Sonic Power Sneakers drop in Fortnite
Four sources put the sneakers in your hands. Three of them are luck-based, and one is close to guaranteed if you have the right consumable in your Pickaxe slot before the match starts.
| Source | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Loot Chests | Standard chance roll anywhere on the island. |
| Floor loot | Spawns loose on the ground, most common in busier POIs. |
| Llama Supply Drop Gizmo | Reliable. Call the drop in, open the llama, take the sneakers. |
| Eliminated players | Drops with the rest of their inventory, unless they hold a 1-Up Token. |
| Doctor Eggman boss | Chance at the Mythic version with infinite durability. |
Chest and floor spawns are the least effort. Land at any populated POI, clear the chests in the first minute, and the sneakers will show up on the ground or in a chest with the Swap prompt attached.

Taking them off another player works too, with one catch. If your target is holding a 1-Up Token, they get rifted out on elimination and their inventory leaves with them, so you get nothing.
The Llama Supply Drop Gizmo method
This is the closest thing to a guaranteed route. The Llama Supply Drop is one of the new Gizmos this season, and it calls in a boosted llama-themed supply drop at your position. You can obtain it through Fortnite Lobby Hack codes entered in the Admin Panel in the Battle Royale lobby.
Note: the drop is visible and audible, so expect company if you call it in near an active POI.
Doctor Eggman boss location and the Mythic sneakers
Eggman spawns twice per match. Look for him around Green Hill Zone, and then near Stone Sanctum or Reality’s Reign. He roams rather than standing in one spot, so track the red skull icon on your minimap to find him.
He sits inside a vehicle with over 3,000 HP that shields his head, though headshots still land for extra damage. Shotguns and SMGs chew through his health quickest. Jump when he slams and move sideways when he charges. If you build or find high ground, he cannot follow, and you can shoot down at his head safely.
His guaranteed drop is the Mythic 8-Bit Shotgun, which deals 117 damage per body shot and 150 per headshot. Alongside that, his loot pile can include a Chug Jug, ammo, Gold Bars, a 1-Up Token, and — with luck — the Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers. That version has infinite durability, which removes the single biggest limitation of the regular item.
How to use Spin Dash and Spin Attack
The sneakers are an Epic rarity item that occupies an inventory slot. Equip them, then press the Fire button to activate. You curl into a blue ball and keep moving with your normal movement controls, only much faster. Pressing the Aim-Down Sight button turns the ability off.
A grounded Spin Dash carries you a long distance in one go, which is the main reason to hold the item at all. In the air, hitting Jump lets you slam into a nearby enemy with a Spin Attack for damage.
Walls and structures can be smashed as well, but that needs a charge. Hold down the Fire button to build up power, then release to launch yourself forward through whatever is in the way.
Durability, cooldowns, and what the sneakers do not protect you from
The standard sneakers carry 100 durability. Every use burns into that pool, and when it reaches 0 the item deletes itself from your inventory automatically. There is no repair or recharge, so treat it as a limited resource rather than permanent movement.
Spin Dash also runs on a cooldown. When the meter empties mid-rotation, you drop out of ball form and are back to running on foot until it refills.
| Detail | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Epic (Mythic from Eggman) |
| Durability | 100, or infinite on the Mythic version |
| On durability 0 | Item is removed from your inventory |
| Damage while rolling | You still take full damage from enemies |
| Drop or trade | Allowed, including to teammates |
Rolling is not invulnerability. Enemies can hit you mid-Spin Dash exactly as they would if you were sprinting, so crossing open ground in ball form still exposes you to snipers and anyone holding an angle.
The most reliable plan is to keep a Llama Supply Drop Gizmo on hand for the early game and save Eggman for matches where you can afford the fight, since his Mythic pair removes the durability clock entirely. Everything else in the Season 4 loot pool still matters — the sneakers move you around, but they will not win the fight for you.
