Sugilite sits inside one of Honkai Star Rail’s most powerful factions, yet he has said very little on screen so far. He is tied to the Interastral Peace Corporation, to the Ten Stonehearts, and to a running conflict with Aventurine that keeps pulling him into the spotlight. Here is what is actually known about him right now.
Quick answer: Sugilite is a non-playable character in Honkai Star Rail. He works in the Strategic Investment Department of the Interastral Peace Corporation and is one of the Ten Stonehearts.

Who Sugilite is in the IPC
Sugilite is an employee of the Strategic Investment Department within the Interastral Peace Corporation, and he holds a seat among the Ten Stonehearts. That group is the same elite circle that includes Aventurine, Topaz, and Jade, so Sugilite operates at the top tier of the IPC’s power structure.
He was introduced in Version 2.3 and made his first appearance in the Myriad Celestia Trailer titled “Stoneheart’s Oath Ring: Both Ends of the Scale,” shown alongside his fellow Stonehearts.
His name comes from sugilite, a relatively rare pink-to-purple ore. The mineral was first described by Japanese petrologist Sugi Kenichi in 1944 and later named after him, which fits the gemstone naming pattern shared across the Stonehearts.

Sugilite is a brown-skinned young man with short, pale white hair. He wears two violet, orb-shaped pearl earrings. One carries a teal and violet tassel, while the other has what looks like a gold tassel.
His outfit leans into a formal, high-status look. It includes a white dress shirt, a dark vest with a prismatic pattern, and a blazer with golden lining and a golden pin on the left collar. He finishes it with a golden necktie and long black gloves, and the blazer sleeves appear to be slit open.

Sugilite and Aventurine’s history
Most of what defines Sugilite comes from his friction with Aventurine. When seven of the Ten Stonehearts gathered to decide Aventurine’s punishment for breaking the Aventurine Cornerstone in Penacony, Sugilite backed removing him from the group. He argued that Aventurine’s actions were mainly for his own benefit, a claim Topaz pushed back on as overly assumptive and dismissive of the facts.
That vote was not a one-off. Sugilite never liked the idea of Aventurine joining the Ten Stonehearts in the first place. He carries an elitist streak, and seeing someone like Aventurine reach the same rank clearly bothered him. Aventurine, for his part, has described Sugilite as “a colleague with atrocious taste.”
In the story set on Astropolis, the IPC’s stronghold planet, Aventurine is tasked with finding a traitor among the Ten Stonehearts, and his suspicion lands on Sugilite. That plot thread is what turns Sugilite from a background name into a figure worth watching.

Sugilite as a Masked Fool
One detail sets Sugilite apart from his colleagues. He is also a Masked Fool, which ties him to the path of Elation. That dual identity, an IPC Stoneheart who also belongs to a group associated with the Aeon of Elation, adds a layer of intrigue to how he might factor into the wider story.

Is Sugilite playable in Honkai Star Rail?
Sugilite is currently a non-playable character. There is no official confirmation of a playable release date for him at this time.
The odds still look reasonable, mostly because every Stoneheart shown so far has eventually become playable. Aventurine, Topaz, and Jade are already in the game, and Pearl has been lined up to join their ranks. If Sugilite follows, he would become the fifth Stoneheart made playable.
His combat path is not settled. His Masked Fool link points toward Elation, which suits his personality more than a protective role. Unofficial leak listings, however, tag him as a 5-star and place him on the Remembrance path, so treat any specific path or version window as unconfirmed until an official reveal lands.
For now, Sugilite remains a sharp-tongued IPC insider defined by rank, pride, and a grudge against Aventurine. Whether that grudge points to a genuine betrayal on Astropolis, or to something more complicated, is the question the story is building toward.
