+1 Speed Keyboard Escape: How to Ascend and Get the Broken Mask

Exact Rebirth and trophy requirements for Tier 1 Ascension, what resets, and how to confirm it worked.

Exact Rebirth and trophy requirements for Tier 1 Ascension, what resets, and how to confirm it worked.

Ascension is the final progression step in Galaxy 1 of +1 Speed Keyboard Escape. It is a hard reset with a permanent payoff: your level drops back to 1, but every galaxy you play afterwards runs on a multiplier that never goes away. It also unlocks the closing lore sequence for the world, complete with a villain called The Mask and a set of trapped admins.

Quick answer: Reach Rebirth 32/32, hold 200T trophies, then open the Rebirth menu and press Ascend! — you drop to Level 1 but gain a permanent x8 speed multiplier across all galaxies and the exclusive Broken Mask item.

Both conditions must be met at the same time. The Ascend button stays locked until your rebirth counter is maxed and the trophy total is in your account, and the currency is spent when you confirm.

The Ascend panel words the cost as trophies in one place and as wins in another, but it is the same pool of currency you build up by running the keyboards. The multiplier it grants is described as applying across all galaxies, so it carries into future worlds rather than only the one you earned it in.

How to ascend

Grind rebirths until the Rebirth menu shows MAX! and your rebirth multiplier stops climbing. At that point the menu exposes the Ascend! option instead of another rebirth prompt.

Open the Ascend panel and check the two lines at the top. It lists REBIRTH 32/32 as the gate and 200T as the price, along with your current tier.
Press ASCEND. A cutscene takes over, in which The Mask talks directly to your character and locks the game’s admins inside a cage. You cannot skip past the reward screen, so let it play.
Return to the map and start running the keyboards again. Your level is now 1, and speed builds from scratch on top of the new multiplier.

How to confirm the Ascension worked

There are three separate confirmations, and all of them should appear. A full-screen banner reads YOU HAVE ASCENDED, the tier line updates to Tier 1 - x8, and the Broken Mask drops in with a Rewarded for Ascending! notice. Reopening the Ascend panel afterwards should show Current Tier 1 - x8 speed rather than Tier 0.

If the tier line still reads Tier 0, the trophy balance was short of 200T when you pressed the button, or the rebirth counter had not reached 32/32. Those are the only two gates on the button.

What resets and what you keep

Ascending is not a wipe. Cosmetics and gear survive intact, which is why the climb back up is far faster than the first run through Galaxy 1.

Rebuilding speed after the reset

Because your trails, auras and treadmills stay equipped, the multiplier stack rebuilds almost immediately once you start running. A typical post-Ascension stack combines the x8 from ascending, item bonuses, an active speed boost, the trail and aura multiplier, and the rebirth multiplier, which is what pushes the numbers back into the quintillion range within a single session.

Spamming rebirths as soon as each one becomes available is the quickest route back to 32/32. Check the Rebirth menu regularly rather than running blind, since the multiplier only applies once you actually claim the rebirth.

Paid boosts shorten the grind, and two of them matter most after ascending. A x2 Speed Boost lasting one hour costs 36 Robux, while a x2 Server Boost costs 288 Robux and applies to everyone on the server, not just you.

Fixing a glitched Ascend menu

The Ascend panel can stick to the screen and refuse to close, blocking the rest of the interface. Clicking the Summer coins info button clears it and restores normal input, so you do not need to rejoin the server.

Note: Summer coins themselves are tied to the Summer shop, which only opens during Admin Abuse events. The coins spawn across the stages as you play, including during coin storms.

Ascension tiers after Tier 1

Tier 1 is not the ceiling. Once you are ascended, the Ascend panel reframes itself around the next step, listing the requirement as maxing your rebirths again and holding 200T wins, with the payout shown as x16. In other words, each tier repeats the same gate and doubles the multiplier you carry forward.

The Mask, the trapped admins, and the Galaxy 1 ending

The Ascension cutscene is the opening half of Galaxy 1’s finale. The Mask locks the admins — chichine, LuckyMatg and Secret_Lokii — inside a cage and starts pushing server-wide speed multipliers as high as x30,000, occasionally polling the server on whether to go further. Freeing the admins triggers the closing cutscene, in which The Mask escapes through a portal to Galaxy 2 and the credits roll on Galaxy 1 - End of Chapter.

Galaxy 2 appears in the Teleport Worlds menu but is not open yet, and no release date has been confirmed for it. Until it opens, the practical value of ascending sits in the multiplier and the Broken Mask, both of which carry over the moment that world does go live.
