Grand Blue: How to Get All Fighting Styles and Their Locations

Fighting styles in Grand Blue are the melee layer of your character. They control your M1 light attack and M2 heavy attack, plus their own arts, and they stay on your body even when you swap Cursed Fruits. There are four styles you can currently train from NPCs across the three Early Access islands, each locked behind a trainer, a gold cost, and in one case a pair of boss drops.

Quick answer: Buy Brawler from Whitty and Novice Swordsman from Shiro in Anchor Town (250 gold each), buy Marksman from Captain Usop in Maple Village (1,000 gold), and unlock the secret Trickster style from Loki in Clown Town for 1,000 gold after learning Pickpocket and Pocket Sand from the boss Afuaru, the Hoarder.

Note: the Marksman style appears in the Logbook menu spelled as “Markman.” That is a display quirk, not a separate style.

Brawler in Anchor Town

Brawler is the cheapest and most accessible style, and it is a good first pick if you want a fast M1 string for clearing camps.

Head to the docks on the right side of Anchor Town, the starting island. Look toward the port area rather than inland.

Find Whitty, the Brawler trainer. He is marked with a red icon floating above his head, which makes him easy to spot along the port.

Talk to Whitty and buy the style for 250 gold. Once purchased, Brawler is added to your unlocked styles and can be equipped from the wardrobe.

Novice Swordsman in Anchor Town

Novice Swordsman is the second style you can grab without leaving the starting island. It costs the same 250 gold as Brawler.

From the center of Anchor Town, make your way to the cliffs near the pond and climb up.

Locate Shiro, who stands outside a house at the top of the climb.

Speak to Shiro and pay 250 gold to learn Novice Swordsman.

Trickster, the secret style in Clown Town

Trickster is a hidden style with an extra requirement. Before the trainer will sell it to you, you must first learn two skills that drop from a boss on the starting island. Both drops have a 10% chance, so expect several attempts.

Fight Afuaru, the Hoarder in Anchor Town repeatedly until you obtain both the Pickpocket skill book and the Pocket Sand skill book. Each has a 10% drop rate.

Learn both skills once you have the books. Trickster stays locked until Pickpocket and Pocket Sand are both trained.

Sail to Clown Town, the second island, unlocked around level 30. Head to the carnival area and climb to the top of the Ferris wheel.

Talk to Loki, who is sitting in one of the Ferris wheel carriages, and buy Trickster for 1,000 gold.

Marksman in Maple Village

Marksman is the ranged style and sits on the third island. You reach Maple Village at roughly level 70, so this is the last of the four styles most players unlock.

Take your ship from Clown Town to Maple Village and follow the path straight ahead.

Head up the grassy cliffs. Captain Usop is standing on a ledge along the cliffside path.

Talk to Captain Usop and buy Marksman for 1,000 gold.

How to switch between fighting styles

Buying a style does not automatically equip it. You swap between everything you own through the wardrobe in the beginner town.

Go to the wardrobe or closet in Anchor Town and press E to open the Closet menu.

Open the “Fighting Styles” tab. The same closet also lets you change your equipped Cursed Fruit.

Select any unlocked style to equip it. Your M1 and M2 animations change immediately, which confirms the swap worked. Style mastery is tracked separately from fruit mastery, so switching fruits never resets your style.

Current Grand Blue codes for rerolls and chests

Redeem codes for Trait Rerolls, Race Rerolls, Fruit Chests, and Celestial Coins, which help you save toward the gold and gear you need while training styles. Codes expire without warning, so claim them early.

To redeem, launch Grand Blue on Roblox, open the Customize Character or Settings menu, type a code into the text box, and press Redeem. If a new code fails, rejoin a fresh server and try again.

Since Grand Blue is still in Early Access, more styles are expected to arrive over time, and named lists may change as they get added to the Logbook. For now, these four cover every trainable style across Anchor Town, Clown Town, and Maple Village, and the two 250-gold options on the starting island are the fastest way to get a working M1 string before you sail out.
