The Wrecker Revolver, the O.X.R. pistol that fires shotgun pellets at rifle range, is coming out of the vault in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. It is not being dropped straight into the floor loot, though. It arrives as part of the Loot Hack weapon pool, which means you have to buy it into your own Chests before a match starts.
Quick answer: After the v42.10 update goes live on September 3, 2026, spend Sprite Dust on the Wrecker Revolver in the Loot Hack menu. Once it is unlocked, it can roll from Chests you open in Battle Royale.
When the Wrecker Revolver returns
The weapon comes back with the v42.10 patch, the first major update of Chapter 7 Season 4. Servers go down and the update lands on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 4:00 AM PT / 7:00 AM ET. The Wrecker Revolver is not available in Battle Royale, Reload, or Blitz Royale before that patch, although it has stayed playable in Creative and UEFN the whole time.

Epic has been clear that the Wrecker Revolver sits in the Loot Hack pool rather than the standard ground loot pool, alongside the Holo Twister Assault Rifle and the Deadeye Assault Rifle.
How to unlock the Wrecker Revolver with Sprite Dust
Loot Hacks are the Season 4 system that lets you edit your own Chest drops. You pay with Sprite Dust, which you earn by catching and extracting Sprites, and the unlock changes what can appear inside the Chests you personally open during a Battle Royale match.

Note: the Loot Hack selection rotates. The menu shows a countdown for when the current set refreshes, so if you want the revolver for the long run, buy it while it is listed rather than waiting.
Wrecker Revolver stats by rarity
The Wrecker Revolver is classed as a Pistol, uses Shells for ammo, and holds eight rounds that all reload at once. It has a 2x headshot multiplier and a fire rate of 1.38 across every rarity, so the difference between tiers is damage, reload speed, and the cap on a single shot.
| Rarity | Damage | DPS | Reload | Damage cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 69 | 95.22 | 3.74s | 130 |
| Uncommon | 73 | 100.74 | 3.52s | 135 |
| Rare | 77 | 106.26 | 3.4s | 140 |
| Epic | 81 | 111.78 | 3.23s | 145 |
| Legendary | 85 | 117.3 | 3.06s | 150 |
Structure damage runs from 44 on Common up to 54 on Legendary, which is enough to punch through builds without committing your whole magazine. Epic has adjusted these numbers several times since the weapon debuted in update v37.00 on August 7, 2025, so treat the values as the current baseline rather than something fixed.
How the Wrecker Revolver behaves in a fight
Every shot fires a spread of 10 pellets and the weapon is hitscan, so there is no travel time to lead. Hipfire keeps the spread wide, while aiming down sights pulls it in tightly and turns the gun into a mid-range option. A minimum of three pellets always connect on a hit, which is why partial tags still chip an opponent instead of doing nothing.
Range is the reason it stands apart from actual shotguns. Damage falloff begins at 14 meters, drops to 64 percent of maximum by 50 meters, sits at 58 percent by 80 meters, and the pellets stop dealing damage past 100 meters. You can also reload while aiming, and aim down sights in midair in modes where that mechanic is switched on.
Because it is filed under Pistols rather than Shotguns, it sidesteps the swap delay that applies between two shotguns. Carrying two of them, or pairing one with a pump, lets you fire back-to-back heavy shots faster than a single revolver could reload, which is the main reason close-range fights shift when this gun is in the pool.
Other Loot Hack additions in the v42.10 update
The revolver shares its refresh with several other unlocks, so your Sprite Dust has competition. Everything below is bought the same way, through the Loot Hack menu.
| Type | Additions |
|---|---|
| Loot Hack weapons | Wrecker Revolver, Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Deadeye Assault Rifle |
| Loot Hacks | Rocket Ram, Gold Banana, Tracking Visor |
Why the Wrecker Revolver may not show up in your Chests
The unlock is confirmed the moment the Loot Hack menu shows the Wrecker Revolver as owned rather than purchasable. If it still shows a Sprite Dust price, the purchase did not go through.
Two things account for most cases where players unlock it and still never see it in a match. The first is simply that Loot Hack weapons are a chance to appear in Chests, not a guarantee, so a run of unlucky Chests is normal. The second is buying it on one account or platform and then playing on another, since the unlock is tied to the account holding the Sprite Dust.
One last thing worth planning around: the Loot Hack lineup rotates on a timer shown in the menu, and the weapons that leave the rotation are no longer purchasable until they cycle back. If the Wrecker Revolver is the gun you want to build a loadout around this season, unlock it early in the cycle rather than saving Dust for later.
