Breathedge 2: Where to Find Glass Near Your Train

Two debris spots close to the starting train hold enough glass balls for early repairs and crafting.

Two debris spots close to the starting train hold enough glass balls for early repairs and crafting.

Glass is one of the few early materials in Breathedge 2 that no tool can produce for you. Wires and Electrical Tape can be pulled out of junk with the right equipment, but glass only exists as small floating balls sitting inside wreckage in the Outskirts. You have to fly out and pick them up by hand.

Quick answer: Leave the train and head a short distance north until you spot a long tube-shaped corridor floating in space with windows running along it. Fly inside and collect the 4 to 5 glass balls drifting in there, along with the metal and plastic in the same tube.

Both glass locations in the Outskirts

Both spots sit within easy travel range of the train, so neither trip requires a big supply run. The first one covers your early repair needs on its own.

LocationWhat to look forRoughly how much glass
Slightly north of the trainBroken cylindrical corridor floating in space, windows along its length4 to 5 glass balls inside
North-west of the trainTrain wagon torn in half near a large tube entrance, with an astronaut’s corpse floating beside itA few more glass balls around the wagon

How to reach the first glass spot

Open the exit door on your starting spacecraft and push out into open space. You will be in the Outskirts, the debris field wrapped around the train.

Turn north and look for a broken metal tube drifting a short way out. It reads as a cylindrical corridor rather than a chunk of scrap, and it has windows set into its sides.
Fly into the tube instead of circling it. The resources sit inside the structure, not on its hull.
Grab every glass ball floating in the corridor. Metal and plastic are scattered in the same space, so sweep the interior once before heading back rather than making a second trip.

The backup spot north-west of the train

If you burn through your first haul, head north-west instead. There is a large tube entrance out this way, and it is a trap for your time. The glass is not inside it.

Stay outside and scan the debris around that entrance for a train wagon that has been torn clean in half. A dead astronaut floats near it, which is the easiest visual marker at distance. A few more glass balls drift around the wreck of that wagon.

Note: glass does not respawn on a timer and cannot be manufactured, so treat it as a rare pickup. If you pass a glass ball while doing something else in the debris field, take it.

What glass is used for in Breathedge 2

The first real demand comes from the train itself. Replacing the lamp inside your carriage requires glass, and that job is part of getting the interior functional again.

UseWhen it matters
Replacing the lamp in the trainEarly, and the main reason to go looking
Crafting the HelmetLow priority, since you start with one
Crafting the FlashlightLater, once you have found the recipe
Crafting the SpraytronLater in progression

The Flashlight recipe is not available from the start. You need to turn up other items before you can build it, so a shortage of glass is not what is holding that back in the opening hours.

How to confirm you have enough glass

Each collected ball registers as one unit of Glass in your inventory, taking a single 1×1 slot. Once the count covers the lamp replacement listed in your train repair tasks, you are done with glass for the early game.

If you come back empty-handed, it is almost always one of two things. Either you passed the tube north of the train without going inside it, or you flew into the large tube entrance to the north-west instead of searching the split wagon parked outside it.

With the lamp handled, glass stops being a bottleneck. Your attention is better spent on the Scrap, Thumper, and Cutter tools, which are the ones that open up the rest of the debris field and keep both the main and side objectives moving.
