Qingxiao is a 5-star Aero Main DPS who swings a sword, stacks Mindlock, and dumps most of her damage into two places: her Heavy Attacks and her Resonance Liberation. That makes her unusually easy to test, because you can measure a weapon by watching those two numbers move. Her signature sword, Glint of Clouds, is built to feed exactly that pattern, but it is not the only sword that gets there.
Quick answer: Glint of Clouds gives Qingxiao roughly 15 percent more Heavy Attack and Liberation damage than standard 5-star swords like Red Spring or Emerald of Genesis, but Blazing Brilliance matches it within about one percent. If you already own Blazing Brilliance at R1, you can skip the signature banner without losing meaningful damage.
Qingxiao weapon damage comparison (Fallacy of No Return hologram)
The cleanest way to separate these swords is a repeated run against the same hologram boss with the same build, then reading the Heavy Attack and Liberation totals on the completion screen. Here is how the swords stack up, with every weapon at Level 90/90 and Rank 1.
| Weapon | Heavy Atk DMG | Liberation DMG | Heavy vs signature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blazing Brilliance | 373,932 | 528,537 | +1.0% |
| Glint of Clouds (signature) | 370,116 | 528,018 | — |
| Emerald Sentence | 321,319 | 454,170 | −13.2% |
| Red Spring | 321,319 | 454,170 | −13.2% |
| Azure Oath | 321,042 | 454,808 | −13.3% |
| Emerald of Genesis | 315,235 | 445,570 | −14.8% |
Two tiers show up immediately. Glint of Clouds and Blazing Brilliance sit together at the top, separated by about one percent on Heavy Attacks and a rounding error on Liberation. Everything else lands in a tight cluster roughly 13 to 15 percent behind, close enough that swapping between Red Spring, Azure Oath, Emerald Sentence, and Emerald of Genesis is mostly a matter of what you already have leveled.

Keep the conditions in mind before treating these totals as absolutes. Every run used the same character level, the same Echo setup, and the same rotation against a single boss target, so the numbers describe relative weapon strength rather than a damage ceiling. Sub-stat rolls, refinement rank, and how consistently you land the enhanced Heavy Attack window will move real-world results in either direction.

Add to Google Preferences →What Glint of Clouds does for Qingxiao
Glint of Clouds is a 5-star sword with 500 base ATK and a 36 percent Crit Rate secondary stat, the highest crit substat of any sword she can equip. At R1 it raises ATK by 12 percent, and every time the wielder inflicts Tune Strain – Shifting it grants 11.2 percent Aero DMG Bonus for 2 seconds, stacking up to five times with a 0.5-second internal cooldown.
Reaching the fifth stack is where it separates from the pack. At max stacks the Aero DMG Bonus duration stretches from 2 seconds to 30 seconds, and Aero damage begins ignoring 10 percent of the target’s DEF while the effect holds. That is roughly 56 percent Aero DMG Bonus plus a defense shred, sitting on top of a crit stat line.
The pairing works because Qingxiao applies Tune Strain – Shifting on her own. Her Tune Break passive inflicts it after any of her skills deals damage, once per skill per target, so cycling through Sheathed and Drawn Stance attacks builds the stacks without asking anything extra of your rotation.
Note: Because the duration extension and DEF ignore only switch on at five stacks, the weapon ramps. Short bursts where you open with a Liberation before applying Tune Strain – Shifting several times will not see the full bonus.

Blazing Brilliance is the reason to think twice
Changli’s signature sword lands within one percent of Glint of Clouds on Heavy Attacks and effectively ties it on Liberation damage. For a limited weapon banner, that is the single most important comparison on the board: if Blazing Brilliance is already sitting in your inventory, pulling for Glint of Clouds buys you almost nothing on Qingxiao specifically.
The obvious catch is that Blazing Brilliance is itself a limited 5-star sword, so it is not a fallback most accounts can conjure. Treat it as a reason to skip, not a reason to chase.
Standard 5-star swords: Red Spring, Emerald of Genesis, Azure Oath
All three of these carry 588 base ATK, considerably more than the signature’s 500, and they still finish behind because they lack the Aero DMG Bonus and DEF ignore layered on top. The gap between them is small enough that build quality matters more than the choice itself.
Red Spring is the strongest of the group on paper for her, since it grants 12 percent ATK and stacks a 10 percent Basic Attack DMG Bonus up to three times as she keeps hitting, plus a 40 percent Basic DMG Bonus when her Concerto Energy is consumed. Emerald of Genesis leans on 12.8 percent Energy Regen and 6 percent ATK per Resonance Skill cast, up to two stacks, which is the more forgiving pick if your Liberation uptime is shaky.

4-star swords that keep her usable
If you land Qingxiao without a 5-star sword, the free options hold up well enough that she stays a functional Main DPS.
| Weapon | Base ATK / substat | R5 effect |
|---|---|---|
| Feather Edge | 413 / 20.25% Crit Rate | Liberation cast grants 23% ATK and 34.5% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus for 15s |
| Somnoire Anchor | 463 / 18.2% ATK | 4% ATK per Hiss stack, up to 10; at 10 stacks adds 12% Crit Rate |
| Endless Collapse | 463 / 18.2% ATK | Resonance Skill grants 10 Resonance Energy and 20% ATK for 16s, once every 20s |
Feather Edge is the safest starting point because its Crit Rate substat pairs with the Crit DMG main stats her Echo build wants. Somnoire Anchor needs sustained on-field time to reach ten Hiss stacks, which suits her extended Ephemeral Transcendence windows.
Should you pull Glint of Clouds?
Pull it if Qingxiao is your primary Aero carry, you plan to run her in a Tune Strain team, and your best sword is currently a standard 5-star or a 4-star. Roughly 15 percent more damage on her two biggest hits is a real jump, and the DEF ignore scales further as your Mindlock stacks climb.
Skip it if you already have Blazing Brilliance, since the measured difference is inside noise. Skip it as well if your Echo pieces are still unfinished. Moving from a half-rolled Heart of Evil’s Purge set to a properly built one delivers more than the gap between the signature and Red Spring, and it costs Waveplates instead of Astrite.
You can confirm the weapon is working as intended in combat by watching for the Aero DMG Bonus buff icon to persist well past the initial two seconds. Once it holds through a full rotation instead of blinking off, you have hit five stacks and the DEF ignore is live. If it keeps dropping, you are not applying Tune Strain – Shifting often enough between Heavy Attacks, usually because the rotation skips too many distinct skills against a single target.
