Anime Expeditions Update 1.0: How to Get Every Dragon Ball Unit

Each of the six Warriors Saga units has a different unlock path, from banner pulls to a hidden expedition encounter node.

Each of the six Warriors Saga units has a different unlock path, from banner pulls to a hidden expedition encounter node.

Update 1.0 Warriors Saga added six Dragon Ball-inspired units to Anime Expeditions on August 10, 2026, and none of them arrive the same way. One comes from the Standard Banner, one hides behind an Encounter Node on the East Town expedition map, and the rest sit behind trials, crafting, and evolution materials. Knowing which path applies to which unit saves a lot of wasted pulls.

Quick answer: Vegetable (Prince) comes from Standard Banner pulls plus an evolution using Prince’s Crown from Vegetable’s Trial. The Drink (Juicebox) requires finding the Encounter Node on the East Town Expedition Difficulty 1 map to receive the Toy Capsule. The other four are acquired and then upgraded through unit trials, mastery farming, and the Crafting altar.

The six new units in Warriors Saga Update 1

The Update Log lists all six additions alongside the new equipment set. The in-game names do not match their anime inspirations, which trips up a lot of players searching for them.

How to get Vegetable (Prince) from the Standard Banner

Vegetable is a Standard Banner pull, which means there is no guaranteed shortcut. Expect to cycle through other secret and mythic units such as Shadow and Lady Giant before the base version drops.

Pull on the Standard Banner until base Vegetable appears in your unit list. The base form is what the evolution consumes, so do not spend materials on it before you have the trial rewards.
Run Vegetable’s Trial in East Town to farm Prince’s Crown. This is the gating material for the evolution, and the trial is the only place it drops.
Open the Evolve screen and check the crafting requirements. If the panel shows an “Insufficient Materials” warning, you are still short on Prince’s Crown or the supporting materials, and Quick Craft will not push it through.

Reroll stat potential before finalizing. Pushing Vegetable to SS rank at the Stat Potential station and then completing the evolution locks in the higher ceiling for Prince’s Pursuit, Royal Rivalry, and the Patience stack transformation.

You know it worked when the unit card renames itself to Vegetable (Prince) and the transformation entry appears in the passive list.

How to unlock The Drink (Juicebox) through the Encounter Node

The Drink is the only unit here that ignores the banner entirely. It is tied to a special interaction that spawns on the expedition map, so the acquisition is a search problem rather than a luck problem.

Enter East Town Expedition at Difficulty 1 and scan the map layout for an Encounter Node. Nodes are marked separately from combat stops, and you may need to re-enter the expedition if one does not appear on your route.
Walk to the node and speak with The Drink. Completing the conversation hands over the Toy Capsule, which is the item that starts the unit’s chain.
Visit the Crafting altar and forge red, blue, and purple Sprites. Those three feed into the Pointy Straw equipment, which is built specifically for this unit.

Roll damage stats before evolving, then complete the evolution into The Drink (Juicebox). The finished unit applies Drink Mark every six attacks, unlocks Golden Ascension, and guarantees follow-up critical attacks.

Farming trials and gear for Bioinsect and Carrot

Two of the six units need equipment from specific East Town content before they perform anywhere near their listed potential.

Bioinsect (Final Form) pulls its signature gear from Perfection’s Trial, an East Town Act 1 Unit Trial. Clearing it means defeating Bioinsect (Perfect), and the reward is the Mechanical Wings equipment drop. The unit itself copies the strongest ally’s base damage, spawns Genetic Duplication clones, and applies Bio Gel for stall control.

Carrot (Unleashed) needs Carrot’s Gi and Royal Gi, both of which come from East Town Act 1 Mastery Hard Mode. Auto play handles the repeat runs. Once you have the pieces, take them to the Armory and reroll their stats up to legendary quality before slotting them.

Carrot (Unleashed) runs on Battle Instinct for crits, transforms into Limitless Warrior Fighting Spirit, and uses Instant Relocation to teleport to an ally and copy its attack. That teleport is the entire point of the unit, which is why building it as a pure damage dealer wastes the kit.

Trait rerolls: Which trait each Dragon Ball unit needs

Traits are rolled at the Trait Reroll altar, and the filters let you narrow which trait you are hunting. Getting the wrong one is not fatal, but it costs uptime on the support units. The split is simple. Units that deal direct damage want Unbound or Forsaken. Units that rely on multiple placements or buff teammates want Primordial.

UnitTraitReason
Vegetable (Prince)Unbound or ForsakenPure damage scaling through crit and follow-ups
Carrot (Unleashed)PrimordialThree placements means three follow-up triggers
The Drink (Juicebox)PrimordialBetter debuff uptime across the wave
Bioinsect (Final Form)PrimordialBuff and stall value scales with placements
Prodigy (Rage)UnboundDirect AoE damage output
CubertPrimordial or UnboundPrimordial for support cubes, Unbound for the damage route

Note: giving a support unit a pure damage trait is one of the most common mistakes with this roster. It reduces the number of placements you can field, which cuts the exact thing those units exist to provide.

Build order: Which Dragon Ball unit to invest in first

Materials are limited, so the order matters more than the total spend. Vegetable needs zero setup to perform, which makes it the safest first max. Carrot follows because it multiplies whatever your strongest carry already does. After that, The Drink or Bioinsect fill the debuff and scaling slots, and Prodigy covers AoE coverage.

Equipment priority mirrors that. Damage and crit gear go to Vegetable, transformation gear goes to Vegetable and Prodigy, and SPA or support gear goes to The Drink and Bioinsect. Kenpachi’s Berserk state counts as a transformation for gear purposes, so Warrior Pole works there too.

One constraint worth planning around: Bioinsect needs 50 takedowns for Semi-Perfect and 100 for Perfect. In Boss Rush there simply are not enough kills to reach either form, so it contributes very little there. Long wave stages are where it pays off.

Balance on this roster moves quickly, and adjustments are posted in the game’s official Discord server before they appear elsewhere. Check there before committing Trait Crystals to an expensive reroll.

The through-line across all six is that acquisition and power are separate problems. Pulling Vegetable or finding The Drink’s Encounter Node only gets you the base unit; the trials, the Armory rerolls, and the Crafting altar are what turn it into something that clears endgame content. Budget your materials for the second half, not the first.
