Update 2.0 Summer Siege adds nine new units and evolutions to Anime Expeditions, and four of the standout summer additions each come from a different source. Kitsune drops from a bingo board, Head Captain, Rainman, and Water Mage roll out of Summer Capsules, and Sharkfang is fished up during the Tidal Siege waves. The event window is short, so knowing exactly where each unit lives saves you from wasting event currency.
Quick answer: Complete the Kitsune Bingo board with stamps to unlock Kitsune, buy Summer Capsules for 100 Sand Dollars each to pull Head Captain, Rainman, and Water Mage, and fish during Tidal Siege waves to catch Sharkfang.
Summer Siege event window
The Summer Siege event runs from August 31 at 5:00 AM through September 11 at 4:00 PM. Everything below is tied to that window, so any unit you want has to be secured before it closes. Sand Dollars, Summer Capsules, and the Tidal Siege game mode are all part of this limited run.
You earn Sand Dollars by clearing waves in Tidal Siege, and those dollars power the event shop. That single currency covers evolution items, capsules, and gear, so plan your spending around which units you actually intend to build.

| Unit | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Kitsune (Sparkle) | Complete the Kitsune Bingo board using stamps |
| Head Captain (Yamamoto) | Summer Capsules (0.25% drop) |
| Rainman (Weather Report) | Summer Capsules (0.5% drop) |
| Water Mage | Summer Capsules (0.25% drop) |
| Sand (Crocodile) | Summer Capsules (0.25% drop) |
| Sharkfang | Fish during Tidal Siege waves |
Unlock Kitsune through Kitsune Bingo
Kitsune (Sparkle) is exclusive to the Kitsune Bingo event. You fill the board with stamps that drop from a wide range of modes, so you are not locked into a single grind.
Stamps drop from Story, Infinite, Challenge, Mastery, Portal Tower, and Tidal Siege. Play whichever of those you enjoy most, collect stamps, and mark off squares until the board is complete.
Kitsune works as a buffer rather than a raw damage dealer. Her Dreamdiver passive cuts SPA by 15% and raises attack speed by 15% for 10 seconds on the strongest unit in range. Her active, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, boosts every unit’s damage and range by 35% for 30 seconds.

Pull units from Summer Capsules
Summer Capsules are the source for Head Captain (Yamamoto), Rainman (Weather Report), Water Mage, and Sand. Each capsule costs 100 Sand Dollars from the Summer Shop, and the drop rates are low, so expect to open a large batch to hit the rarer units.
| Drop | Rate |
|---|---|
| Rainman | 0.5% |
| Water Mage | 0.25% |
| Sand | 0.25% |
| Head Captain | 0.25% |
Capsules also contain the new summer skins, including Sand (Summer), Sovereign (Summer), Carrot (Summer), Rainman (Galaxy), and The Hero (Summer). You can view the rates while opening, and the auto-sell settings for capsules help clear out duplicates fast.
Tip: Save Sand Dollars until you have enough for a bulk opening. Opening capsules in large numbers is the realistic way to land the 0.25% units.
Evolve Head Captain into Head Captain (Char)
Once Yamamoto drops, you can evolve him into Head Captain (Char) using event materials. The evolution needs 1x Overgrown Beard, 20x Sprite (Red), and 25x Sprite (Yellow). The Overgrown Beard sells for 10,000 Sand Dollars in the Summer Shop.
Yamamoto is a burn-focused physical unit. His East and West passives stack burn damage, while his South passive summons path-trapping skeletons that explode and add 5% damage per skeleton. His active, North, deals 200% of his current damage to enemies in range plus another 100% divided among them.

Evolve Rainman into Rainman (Forecast)
Rainman (Weather Report) evolves into Rainman (Forecast) with 1x Cloud Disc, 25x Sprite (Blue), and 25x Sprite (Green). The Poison Frog item, priced at 10,000 Sand Dollars, is part of his gear setup as well.

Rainman scales through his Climate Meter. His Heavy Rain passive adds 5 to the meter for each hit from Rain Cloud, and at 100 it triggers a Frog Storm that stops enemies for 5 seconds and turns dead enemies into Poison Frogs. Once the Rain Cloud ability is active and the meter fills, his DPS climbs past 280k.

Catch Sharkfang in Tidal Siege
Sharkfang is a Mythic unit unlocked through the Tidal Siege game mode. Unlike the capsule units, she is caught by fishing during the waves rather than bought. Keep fishing through the Coral Kingdom waves and activate the Sharktooth Conch to obtain her.
To evolve her into Sharkfang (Abyssal), you need 1x Sharktooth Necklace, 15x Sprite (Blue), and 25x Sprite (Yellow). The Sharktooth Necklace costs 10,000 Sand Dollars. Her Waterfall passive slows enemies by 50% and deals 35% of her current damage, while her Tidal Wave active applies a rewind effect to enemies.
Fishing rods that speed up your catches
Fishing is the backbone of the event, and better rods make Sharkfang and other catches far quicker. Two rods are earned through Tidal Siege progress, one comes from the Summer Shop, and two are luck-based drops.
| Rod | How to get it | Notable passive |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Rod | Unlocked for all players | None |
| Auto Rod | Reach Wave 150 in Tidal Siege | Faster lure, skips the minigame |
| Advanced Rod | Buy from the Summer Shop | None |
| Lucky Rod | 1% chance after catching any fish | Every 8th catch is guaranteed Mythic |
| Recycling Rod | Fish 100 times | Every 10 items sold recycles one into a Legendary |
The Lucky Rod is the hardest to get, since it only appears at a 1% chance from fishing, but its guaranteed Mythic every eighth catch is the fastest path to landing a Mythic unit like Sharkfang.
With the event closing on September 11, prioritize the units you want most. Kitsune is a pure buffer worth grabbing early since her bingo board fills from modes you are already playing, and the capsule units reward patience with a large Sand Dollar stockpile. Sharkfang and the better rods both come out of Tidal Siege, so investing your fishing time there covers two goals at once.
