FC 27 brings a batch of PC-specific changes aimed at cutting load times, giving you more control over graphics, and removing the friction of managing friends across the EA app and Steam. The updates apply whether you launch through the EA app, Steam, or the Epic Games Store, and several of them target the CPU and memory problems that hurt responsiveness in FC 26.
Quick answer: On PC, FC 27 launches up to 50% faster on some setups, adds new Performance, Balanced, High, and Ultra graphics presets with a VRAM indicator, introduces an optional Enhanced Ultra Visuals mode, and automatically shows your Steam friends through EA Connect so you no longer need the EA app to invite them.

What’s changing on PC in FC 27
| Change | What it does |
|---|---|
| Faster launch | Updated startup flow with fewer windows and loading steps; up to 50% shorter load time on some configurations |
| New graphics presets | Performance, Balanced, High, and Ultra options; Ultra targets 120 FPS on strong hardware |
| VRAM indicator | Estimates maximum in-game video memory usage in settings |
| Enhanced Ultra Visuals | Optional high-fidelity mode, off by default, for high-end PCs |
| Steam Friends via EA Connect | Steam friends appear automatically; invite them without the EA app |
| Redesigned keyboard controls | WASD and Arrow Keys layouts |
| Performance optimizations | Reduces cases where high CPU usage lowers responsiveness |

The first change you will notice happens before you reach the menus. FC 27 uses a reworked startup flow that trims the number of windows and loading steps shown when the game opens. On some hardware, that cuts launch time by roughly half compared with the previous year.
The exact saving depends on your PC. Faster storage and a stronger CPU will see the biggest drop, but the shorter startup path applies whether you open the game through the EA app or Steam.
Graphics presets and the VRAM indicator
FC 27 expands the graphics presets so you can match visuals to your hardware more precisely. The options run from Performance up through Balanced, High, and Ultra, letting you push detail on a capable rig or prioritize frame rate on a weaker one. If your system can handle it, Ultra targets 120 FPS.
A new VRAM indicator sits in the settings and estimates how much video memory the game expects to use. That helps you judge whether a preset will fit within your graphics card’s memory before you commit to it.
Note: Any change to graphics settings requires a game restart to take effect.

Enhanced Ultra Visuals for high-end PCs
Beyond the standard presets, high-end systems can turn on Enhanced Ultra Visuals for a higher level of image fidelity. This mode adds extra visual detail on top of Ultra and is meant for players who want the sharpest presentation the PC version offers.
Enhanced Ultra Visuals is disabled by default because of the extra load it places on hardware. You can enable it at any time, and switch it back off if your frame rate drops too far.

One friend list across Steam and EA Connect
Playing with Steam friends no longer forces you into the EA app. FC 27 makes your Steam friends available automatically through EA Connect, so you can see them and send invites directly from within the game.
This removes the extra step of syncing friends between two clients before you can queue up together.
Keyboard controls and responsiveness
Most players use a controller, but FC 27 also reworks keyboard support with both WASD and Arrow Keys layouts. That gives keyboard players a cleaner default mapping to work from.
On the performance side, the game includes optimizations that reduce situations where high CPU usage drags down responsiveness. The result should feel more consistent than FC 26, though the actual improvement scales with your setup. You can read the full breakdown in EA’s official PC Deep Dive Pitch Notes.

When you can play FC 27 on PC
FC 27 launches worldwide on September 25, 2026, on Windows PC through the EA App, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, alongside PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players with an eligible Ultimate or Ultimate Plus Edition can start on September 18, up to seven days early.
On PC, the Standard Edition is scheduled to unlock at 23:00 UTC on September 24, slightly ahead of the console midnight launches. A free FC 27 Lite preview with a limited set of content also arrives on September 25 at 16:00 UTC, with the option to upgrade to the full game.
The PC version shares the same feature set as the most advanced consoles, so these changes sit on top of the wider gameplay, Career, FUT, and The Grounds updates coming to FC 27. If your hardware clears the minimum specs, the new presets and Enhanced Ultra Visuals give you room to scale the experience up or down without leaving performance on the table.
